副词
一、概念
副词是指在句子中表示行为或状态特征的词,用以修饰动词、形容词、其他副词或句子等,表示时间、地点、程度、方式等概念。
二、构成规则
本单元主要学习“形容词+ -ly”变为副词,具体规则如下:

1. 一般情况:加 -ly
quiet—quietly;careful—carefully;quick—quickly
2. 双音节、多音节,以y结尾:将y改为 i,再加 -ly
happy—happily;heavy—heavily;easy—easily
3. 以“辅音字母+le”结尾:去e加 -y
possible—possibly;terrible—terribly

true—truly;due—duly;whole—wholly
5. 开音节词:加 -ly
wide—widely;polite—politely;extreme— extremely

① 有些单词虽然包含-ly结构,但本身是形容词,如 friendly、lovely、lonely、elderly等

② 有一部分单词既是形容词又是副词。如hard、early、fast、high等,可在上下文中灵活地充当形容词或副词。作形容词还是副词主要取决于上下文的语境

1. 加 -ly 后缀变成副词
partly 部分地;weekly 每周;daily 每日的;firstly 第一
2. 加 -wise后缀变成副词,表示方向、方式
clockwise 顺时针地;右转地
crosswise 横过地;对角横穿地
likewise 同样地 otherwise 否则;要不然
