根据文章第二段“Historically, the pain that comes with rejection has been a useful tool. For our ancestors, being kept away from a group would have been a death sentence, since it was difficult to survive alone. Thus, the brain likely developed an alarming system to warn us when we were at risk of being rejected. Those who experienced rejection as more painful gained an advantage since they were more likely to adjust their behavior to remain in the group.
根据文章第三段“Research which compared brain activity of people who had experienced rejection with that of people who had experienced physical pain showed that many of the same regions of the brain lit up. The pain is a warning that something is damaging our health. (研究将经历过拒绝的人和经历过身体疼痛的人的大脑活动进行了比较,结果表明,大脑中许多相同的区域都活跃起来了。疼痛是一种警告,表明有什么东西正在损害我们的健康。)”可知,经历过拒绝的人和经历过身体疼痛的人的大脑会对拒绝和疼痛有同样的反应。故选D。
30.细节理解题。根据文章第四段“Therefore, it is necessary to do a realistic analysis on what the problem is. If someone doesn’t call you back, don’t jump to the conclusion that they don’t want to talk to you. They might be sick or busy. (因此,有必要对问题所在进行现实的分析。如果有人没有给你回电话,不要妄下结论说他们不想和你说话。他们可能生病了或者很忙。)”可知,作者建议我们被拒绝时,我们应该合理分析原因。故选A。
根据文章第一段“Rejection (拒绝) is a universal experience, but the pain of it can feel so individual. No matter how many times you have experienced it, being told you didn’t get the job or that a date doesn’t want to see you again is always hurtful. (被拒绝是一种普遍的经历,但被拒绝的痛苦却因人而异。不管你经历过多少次,被告知你没有得到这份工作,或者约会对象不想再见到你,总是让你很伤心。)”以及最后一段“Rejection is a normal part of everyone’s life. Instead of seeing the shame that comes with rejection as a negative emotion, see it as a sign that your brain is working exactly how it should be.

故填which/that。

故填to make。

Share Your Culture, Share the World!
Among China's countless cultural treasures, calligraphy stands out as a unique art form that combines visual beauty with profound philosophy. For over 3,000 years, this "dance of ink" has been practiced using just four treasures: brush, inkstick, paper, and inkstone. What appears as simple writing actually embodies the rhythm of nature and the writer's inner world.
This ancient art offers multiple benefits worth exploring. First, it serves as excellent mental training - the focused brush movements require discipline and patience, qualities essential for students. Second, it's a living history lesson; each style (like Kaishu or Xingshu) reflects different dynasties' aesthetic values. Most importantly, in our digital age, calligraphy offers a rare chance to slow down and appreciate the tactile joy of creating art by hand.
Beyond its artistic value, calligraphy carries deep cultural significance. The saying "handwriting mirrors personality" reveals how this practice connects external expression with inner character. Through each graceful stroke, centuries of Chinese wisdom continue to breathe and inspire.2024~2025学年度第二学期期中考试

With the premiere (首播) of the TV drama Meet Yourself earlier last year, the Dali Bai autonomous prefecture in Southwest China’s Yunnan province emerged as a highly sought-after tourism destination.

Taiyuan Ancient County in Shanxi province

Filmed within a residential compound made up of five enclosed courtyards in an ancient town relic site in Jinyuan district, Taiyuan city, Shanxi province, the movie captures the essence of the country’s intricate, winding alleyways and distinctive ancient courtyards, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Qingdao in Shandong province
The Wandering Earth 2, another high-grossing film during last year’s Spring Festival, showcases impressive and grand sci-fi scenes. Interestingly, many may not know that, aside from some scenes shot overseas, 90 percent of the film was actually shot in Qingdao city of East China’s Shandong province.

When Belquer first joined a team to make a better live music experience for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, he was struck by how they had developed more solutions to enjoy concerts. “What they were doing at the time was holding balloons to feel the vibrations (震动) through their fingers,” Belquer said. He thought the team could make something to help hard-of-hearing people enjoy live music even more with the technology now available.
Belquer, who is also a musician and theater artist, is now the “Chief Vibration Officer” of Music: Not Impossible, which uses new technology to address social issues like poverty and disability access. His team started by tying different vibrating cell phone motors to bodies, but that didn’t quite work. The vibrations were all the same. Eventually, they worked with engineers to develop a light haptic (触觉) suit with a total of 24 vibrating plates. There are 20 of them tied to an undershirt that fits tightly around the body like a hiking backpack, plus one that ties to each wrist and ankle. When you wear the suit, it’s surprising how it feels.
The vibrations are mixed by a haptic DJ who controls the location, frequency and intensity of feeling across the suits, just as a music DJ mixes sounds in an artful way. “What we’re doing is selecting and mixing what we want and send it to different parts of the body,” said the DJ. The haptic suits were just one component of the event. There were American Sign Language interpreters; the music was displayed on a screen on the stage.
The suits are the star attraction. Lily Lipman, who has auditory processing disorder, lit up when asked about her experience.“It’s cool, because I’m never quite sure if I’m hearing what other people are hearing, so it’s amazing to get the music in my body.”
What surprised Belquer about people with hearing problems
A. The attitude they held to life. B. The way they enjoyed music.
C. The love they had for balloons. D. The frequency they vibrated fingers.
Why did the team’s initial attempt fail
A. The vibrations lacked variety. B. The vibrations were irregular.
C. The motors were the same. D. The motors hardly worked.
What is paragraph 3 of the text mainly about
A. Displaying music on the stage.
B. Selecting proper suits for participants.
C. Mixed methods helping people feel the music.
D. Interpreters with excellent sign language skills.
What does Lily Lipman think of the suit
A. It’s comforting. B. It’s challenging.
C. It’s satisfying. D. It’s disturbing.

Rejection (拒绝) is a universal experience, but the pain of it can feel so individual. No matter how many times you have experienced it, being told you didn’t get the job or that a date doesn’t want to see you again is always hurtful.
Historically, the pain that comes with rejection has been a useful tool.
Being rejected has far smaller consequences now than it did thousands of years ago. Still, we read it as a threat to our health. The reason why it hurts is the same reason why we experience pain when we step on a sharp object. Research which compared brain activity of people who had experienced rejection with that of people who had experienced physical pain showed that many of the same regions of the brain lit up. The pain is a warning that something is damaging our health.
Concern with rejection is perfectly normal, but being overly worried can affect the quality of our life. If you take rejection personally, your self-worth will suffer; but if you blame it on the general injustice of the world, it will make you angry and bitter. Therefore, it is necessary to do a realistic analysis on what the problem is. If someone doesn’t call you back, don’t jump to the conclusion that they don’t want to talk to you. They might be sick or busy.
Rejection is a normal part of everyone’s life. Instead of seeing the shame that comes with rejection as a negative emotion, see it as a sign that your brain is working exactly how it should be.
How did the pain of rejection help our ancestors survive
A. By increasing the safety of living alone.
B. By showing the consequence of teamwork.
C. By reminding them to change their behavior.
D. By warning them to keep away from danger.
What does the research suggest about rejection and physical pain
A. They are both a cause of brain damage.
B. They are both a warning to our survival.
C. They recall the same suffering in the past.
D. They produce the same response in our brain.
What does the author advise us to do about rejection
A. Analyze it reasonably. B. Doubt it bravely.
C. Ignore it immediately. D. Take it personally.
What can be a suitable title for the passage
A. Rejection: Whose Fault Is It B. Rejection: A Shame or Not
C. How Can We Avoid Rejection D. Why Does Rejection Hurt So Much

What Are Teenager Problems with Parents
Teenhood is a period of life in which there are so many physical, emotional, and intellectual changes. 32 They may have a constant conflict with their parents because they want to declare (宣布) their independence and be in control of their lives. Some common problems teenagers have with their parents are as follows.
Too much control over their teens. Teens wish to become a master of their own life as much as possible. Micromanaging their life can make them more rebellious (叛逆的). 33 There should be a balance between both, and teenagers should understand their limits.
Lack of communication. Lack (缺少) of communication is the most significant issue during this period. 34 They occasionally infringe on (侵犯) their children’s privacy. Teenagers will get upset by such offensive behavior and tend to be more rebellious.
Giving unnecessary advice. Often, teenagers do not appreciate unnecessary advice from their parents. Every time parents offer advice to the teenager, they pass on the message that their children are unskilled in solving their own problems. 35
Challenging their parents’ beliefs. Teenagers like to question their parents. 36 Often, parents fail to reason their teenagers about their beliefs. It seems that teenagers don’t recognize the so-called beliefs which are said to be based on their parents’ life experiences. Teenagers regularly argue with their parents in this context.
A.Teens never like to be controlled.
B.However, it can create a worse cycle.
C.This, in turn, can discourage teenagers.
D.Teenagers might be dealing with a variety of issues at this age.
