comparative forms of adjectives 形容词的比较级
We use the comparative forms of adjectives to describe the differences between two items.
The red apple is big.

比较级
表示两者（人或物）的比较。常用句型：
比较级+ than
为避免重复，one代替apple
Yes, it is. (肯定回答)
No, it isn’t. (否定回答)
The blue car is cuter than the red one. (肯定句)

Is the blue car cuter than the red one (一般疑问句)

2. comparative forms of adverbs 副词的比较级
① He works much harder than me.
口语中一般用me
② You know more about yourself than I (do).
当than 前后所使用的动词相同时，通常用助动词代替后面的动词。该助动词也可以省略。
副词比较级经典例句
3. 在形容词和副词的比较级前，可以用 much / a lot / far (……的多), a little / a bit (……一点), even （甚至）, still （仍然）,three times(三倍)等修饰
I’m feeling much better today.
My brother is a little taller than me.
4. 比较级的其他常用句型
① “比较级＋and＋比较级”意为“越来越……” ，多音节比较级用“more and more＋形容词原级”形式。如：
It’s getting worse and worse.
The group became more and more popular.
③“Which / Who is + 比较级…？”比较两者, 问其中哪一个较……时用此句型。如：
Which T-shirt is nicer, this one or that one
Who is more active, Mary or Kate
Which one is more popular among students, going to concerts or going to
movies
② the+比较级...，the+比较级... “越……,越……”，如：
The more, the better.
The harder you work, the better grades you'll get.
④ the + 比较级 + of the two，意为“两者中较……的”
Look at the two women. My mother is the taller of the two.
5. 同级比较
as + 形容词或副词原形 + as 表示两者在某一方面相同
not as / so+形容词或副词原形 + as 表示两者在某一方面不同
It is as warm today as yesterday.
It is not as / so warm today as yesterday.
I work as hard as her.
I don’t work as / so hard as her.
