动词过去式的一般变化是怎样的呢？
在什么情况下，要用动词的过去式呢？
动词过去式一般在动词词尾加上-ed;在表达过去发生的事情时，要用动词过去式

动词词尾加-ed后的读音，你了解吗？
1. 在浊辅音和元音后读[d]：
cleaned /d/ played /d/
2. 在清辅音后读[t]：
washed /t/ watched /t/
3. 在 [t] 、[d]音后读[id]：
visited /id/ needed /id/

一般过去时态 The Simple Past Tense
一般过去时：表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态，常和表示过去的时间状语连用，如：yesterday, last weekend, last Sunday等。
eg. I visited my grandparents last weekend.

构成规则 原形 过去式
1. 一般在动词原形末尾加-ed look play looked
played
2. 词尾为不发音的e，加-d live hope lived
hoped
3. 末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词，先双写这个辅音字母，再加-ed stop plan stopped

4. 结尾是“辅音字母+y”的动词，变y为i，再加-ed study worry studied
worried
当然过去式还有很多是特殊变化，如：do-did, am/is-was
