borrow 意为 “借入;借用”,是非延续性动词,表示主语从他人或他处借来东西供自己使用。
常用搭配为 “borrow sth. from sb.”
eg: I borrowed a pen from my classmate.我向同学借了一支笔。
【辨析borrow, lend与keep 】
lend 意思是 “借出;借给”,也是非延续性动词,表明主语把自己的东西借给别人,可接双宾语。
常用短语有 “lend sb. sth.” 或者 “lend sth. to sb.”
eg: Could you lend me your book 你能把你的书借给我吗?
eg: She lent her bike to me yesterday.她昨天把自行车借给我了。
keep 引申为 “借用” 时是延续性动词,常与表示一段时间的时间状语连用,如 “for + 时间段”,也可与 “how long” 连用,用于询问借的时长。
eg: You can keep the magazine for two weeks.
