1. Listening strategy
Listening is a silent and individual activity. There are two levels in the act of listening: A general recognition task of preserving the theme and the topic on the basis of visual signals. A cognitive task of obtaining the specific information in the materials aims at utilizing expressions in daily communication. Therefore, students need to develop some listening strategies such as intensive listening, extensive listening, global listening, and selective listening and so on. In this lesson students are instructed to develop the mentioned listening strategies above.

2. Communicative strategy
It is important to motivate students to learn and master some non-verbal communication means such as gestures, facial expressions, and body language that contribute to verbal expressions to state themselves clearly and logically in the oral presentation in their group and class work.
3. Resource strategy
It is an important channel for students to learn from the sports events in their reality as well as from books, magazines, and the Internet. Students should develop their ability to collect useful and needed information from a vast sea of information in the informationalized era. Simultaneously, students are required to search information to complete the tasks in the assignment after class.

A picture about a girl jogging is presented. And students are required to describe it as detailed as possible and answer the following two questions:
