一、作副词
1. 用于否定句、疑问句(含表怀疑动词后),表“还;尚;仍然;直至现在”
常位于句末,在英式英语中多与现在/过去完成时连用,在美式英语中常用一般过去时;否定句中也可紧跟否定词(较正式),或用于动词后的从句前。
e.g. I haven’t finished my homework yet. 我还没完成作业。
二、作连词
表“然而;但是”,含“尽管如此,但……”意味,可连接语义相反分句,还能与 and,but,although/though 连用。
e.g. He said he would be late, yet he arrived on time.
他说会迟到,然而却按时到了。

borrow和lend的区别
一、核心含义不同
borrow:意为“借入;借(东西)”,指从他人处暂时拿走某物使用。
e.g. Can I borrow your pen (我能借你的笔用一下吗?)
lend:意为“借出;把……借给”,指将自己的东西暂时交给他人使用。
e.g. He lent me his book.(他把书借给了我。)
二、搭配介词不同
borrow 常与 from 搭配:borrow sth. from sb.(从某人处借某物)。
e.g. She borrows books from the library every week.(她每周从图书馆借书。)
lend 常与 to 搭配:lend sth. to sb. 或 lend sb. sth.(把某物借给某人)。
e.g. I lent my bike to Tom yesterday. = I lent Tom my bike yesterday.(我昨天把自行车借给了汤姆。)
Language points
