第五部分 写作(满分25分)
[A Sample] Recently, I read a play named “The Million Pound Bank Note ”, an interesting drama written by a famous American author, Mark Twain. It is about an adventure of Henry Adams, an American who was trapped in London and involved in a bet made by two wealthy brothers.
The author wrote this story to uncover some of the reality in the 20th century England. With its humourous language and vivid characters, the play develops a good story about the upper-class life and reveals a lesson about the value of life and money to us.
In my view, this drama is both interesting and instructive. I strongly recommend this drama to you, especially those who are keen on English literature.

Text 10
Hi, my name is Alex, and I want to share the story of my grandfather, Michael. He came to London after graduation. (18) He didn’t have much money, just some small savings he had earned while working in a bookstore. Life was hard at first, but my grandfather stayed determined. He opened a small gift shop opposite an Italian restaurant in the heart of the city. (18) As time went on, the shop grew popular. By the time he turned 50, he had opened four shops across the city. He always said that hard work was the key to his success. When he retired, the business passed to my uncle, David. Then, with the same passion, my uncle opened the fifth shop. (19) Now, our family business is well-known in the city. I am now in college. Once I graduate, I will be only five years younger than when my grandfather started his business at the age of 29, and I plan to join the family business then. (20)福州市八县(市)协作校2024-2025学年第二学期期末联考

Phan Thi Kim Chi’s connection with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
began at an early age. Growing up in a small village in Vietnam, it was inconvenient
for Phan to travel to hospitals in neighboring cities. Whenever she caught a cold or
experienced a headache as a child, her family would seek the help of a local TCM
practitioner. This led her to major in TCM at a traditional medical school in China.
According to Phan, even though TCM has long been commonly practiced and
accepted in Vietnam, finding a good school to learn TCM in Vietnam is not easy.
As a foreign student, Phan finds the TCM basic theory course to be the most
challenging one in the courses. Being widespread and far-reaching, TCM is deeply
connected with Chinese philosophy. It requires years of learning and practice to truly
understand the concepts of yin and yang, harmony between human and nature, and
the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Sometimes she even
translates the TCM vocabulary and scripts into Vietnamese so she can remember and
understand them better.
Overseas students of TCM, like Phan, are not rare. According to a report, the
total number of international students studying TCM in China was 8, 187 last year,
with the largest population of 6,441 coming from Asian countries, followed by 832
from Africa and 432 from Europe. Also, many Chinese medical universities had
projects that sent professors overseas to teach TCM.
The fast- developing situation of TCM is not limited to schools and clinics. It
has also become a lifestyle choice for many young people.
26.Which of the following best explains “practitioner” underlined in Paragraph 1
A.visitor B.officer C.student D.doctor 27.How did Phan
Thi Kim Chi find the TCM basic theory course

There’s a new frontier in 3D printing that’s beginning to come into focus: food.
Recent development has made possible machines that print, cook, and serve foods
on a mass scale. And the industry isn’t stopping there.
With a 3D printer in food production, a cook can print complicated(复杂的)
chocolate shapes and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not
everybody can do that — it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy. A
restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to “re-create forms and pieces” of food that are
“exactly the same,” freeing cooks to complete other tasks. In another restaurant, all
of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3D-printed, rather than farm to table.
The global population is expected to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050, and some
analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain
current levels. Sustainability(可持续性) is becoming a necessity. 3D food printing
could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could use
hydrocolloids (水解胶体) from plentiful renewables like algae(藻类) and grass to
replace the familiar ingredients(烹饪原料). Grocery stores of the future might stock
"food" that lasts years on end, freeing up shelf space and reducing transportation and
storage requirements.
Future 3D food printers could make processed food healthier. Hod Lipson, a
professor at Columbia University, said, “Food printing could allow consumers to
print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a
piece of yesterday’s bread from the supermarket, you’d eat something baked just for
you on demand.”
Despite recent advancements in 3D food printing, the industry has many
challenges to overcome. Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste(糊状
物 ) before a printer can use them, and the printing process is quite time-consuming,
because ingredients interact with each other in very complicated ways. Most of the
3D food printers now are limited to dry ingredients, because meat and milk products
may easily go bad. Some experts are doubtful about 3D food printers, believing they
are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high-end restaurants.
31. What benefit does 3D printing bring to food production A. It contributes to
restaurant decorations.
B. It saves time and effort in cooking.
C. It improves the cooking conditions. D. It helps cooks to create new dishes.
32. What can we learn about 3D food printing from Paragraphs 3 A. It quickens the
transportation of food.
B. It solves food shortages easily.
C. It uses renewable materials as sources of food.
D. It needs no space for the storage of food.
33. According to Paragraph 4, 3D-printed food _____________.
A. is more available to consumers
B. can meet individual nutritional needs
C. can keep all the nutrition in raw materials
D. is more tasty than food in supermarkets
34. What is the main factor that prevents 3D food printing from spreading widely
A. The printing process is complicated.
B. 3D food printers are too expensive.
C. Some experts doubt 3D food printing.
D. Food materials have to be dry.
35. What could be the best title of the passage
A. 3D Food Printing: Delicious New Technology
B. A New Way to Improve 3D Food Printing

Phan Thi Kim Chi’s connection with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) began at an early age. Growing up in a small village in Vietnam, it was inconvenient for Phan to travel to hospitals in neighboring cities. Whenever she caught a cold or experienced a headache as a child, her family would seek the help of a local TCM practitioner. This led her to major in TCM at a traditional medical school in China. According to Phan, even though TCM has long been commonly practiced and accepted in Vietnam, finding a good school to learn TCM in Vietnam is not easy.
As a foreign student, Phan finds the TCM basic theory course to be the most challenging one in the courses. Being widespread and far-reaching, TCM is deeply connected with Chinese philosophy. It requires years of learning and practice to truly understand the concepts of yin and yang, harmony between human and nature, and the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Sometimes she even translates the TCM vocabulary and scripts into Vietnamese so she can remember and understand them better.
Overseas students of TCM, like Phan, are not rare. According to a report, the total number of international students studying TCM in China was 8, 187 last year, with the largest population of 6,441 coming from Asian countries, followed by 832 from Africa and 432 from Europe. Also, many Chinese medical universities had projects that sent professors overseas to teach TCM.
The fast- developing situation of TCM is not limited to schools and clinics. It has also become a lifestyle choice for many young people.
