To understand how butterflies might respond to climate change, Yale ecologist Walter Jetz and entomologist Stefan Pinkert led a team of researchers . Their work revealed that two-thirds of butterfly species live in tropical and subtropical mountains. These regions hold 3.5 times more butterfly hotspots than lowlands.

The study also found that the setting mattered. Older adults in care homes, who often face higher levels of loneliness and weakness, experienced the greatest improvements in mental health. This highlights the potential of group arts interventions to reach those who need it most ."Art interventions are accessible, cost-effective, and enjoyable ,”said Dr Jones, the study's senior author .“They offer a way to address mental health challenges that doesn't rely only on medication or traditional therapy.”
