While countries like Japan and the Netherlands are well-known for their flower festivals, there’s plenty to explore across the US. Cherry Blossom (樱花) Festival
Home to some 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees, Macon is the self-described “cherry blossom capital of the world”. Each March, it’s covered by pink blossoms. The local calendar is packed with events, too, including the unmissable Wiener Dog Race, the Pink Pancake Breakfast, and the Cherry Blossom Parade with floats, marching bands, and more. Skagit Valley Tulip (郁金香) Festival
The best part of this month-long April festival is visiting the valley’s tulip farms. You can take in sweeping views of the tulip fields on two wheels through Tulip Country Bike Tours. Get prepared for particularly rainy spring here. La Conner, an hour north of Seattle, offers a charming starting point for tulip spotting. Mackinac Island Lilac (丁香) Festival
This no-cars-allowed island in Lake Huron kicks off summer with a 10-day celebration of lilacs in June. There’s a little bit of everything on the calendar, from a bicycle race and a 10-km run to a movie screening at Fort Mackinac. Visitors can also join walking tours to learn more about the island’s gardens and flowers. Many visitors think the best way to take in the blooming lilac bushes is on two wheels. Crested Butte Wildflower Festival
Founded in 1986 and now spread over 10 days each July, this festival celebrates the wildflowers blooming in and around Colorado’s Gunnison Valley. Attend guided walks and hikes ranging from beginner to advanced levels. The higher you hike, the more wildflowers you’ll see. When Mia DaPonte was young, she learned that her mother had become an Open Water Diver. Mia decided to become a diver, too. But the youngest one that can start training as a diver is 10 years old.
Once Mia came of age, she got serious. First, she got her Open Water Diver certificate Mia lives in Rhode Island, where the oceans are cold, and people usually can’t see very far. But she didn’t let that discourage her. It’s a rule that when one is diving, they should always have a companion — a second person working with them when diving. Mia’s mother decided to take all the courses Mia was taking to be her companion.
Mia completed 78 dives — far more than the 50 needed to become a Master Scuba Diver. But Mia had to wait for her last two courses — Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver. That’s because one has to be at least 12 years old to earn these certificates.
Over the week before her birthday, Mia did most of the training required for the last two courses and she passed the Advanced Open Water course on her birthday. The next day, when she was officially 12, Mia finished the Rescue Diver course.
That was not getting along without difficulties. Mia did three dives in one day, including one deep dive down to 17.5 meters and she had to made her night dive. The hardest part of the course was showing that she could raise an injured grow-up diver to the surface and take the steps needed to help restart their breath.
Mia says she feels proud to have become a Master Scuba Diver. But she doesn’t plan to stop there. She’s interested in getting more training as a diver. In the future, she hopes to become a marine (海的) biologist.
24.What made Mia’s mother take the same diving courses
A.Improving her own diving skills.
B.Setting a good example for Mia.
C.Watching over Mia’s training process.
D.Being Mia’s diving partner as required.
25.Why was Mia unable to become a Master Scuba Diver according to paragraph 3
A.She couldn’t see far in the sea.
B.She didn’t have a companion.
C.She didn’t finish the dives that were needed.
D.She was too young to attend related courses.
26.What challenged Mia most about the Rescue Diver course
A.Diving deep to 17.5 meters.
B.Finishing three dives one day.
C.Performing first aid on adults.
D.Making night diving by herself.
27.Which of the following can best describe Mia
A.Tough and strong-willed.
B.Determined and open-minded.
C.Serious and easy-going.
D.Curious and warm-hearted.
Britain was once covered with rainforests, known as Celtic rainforests or Atlantic woodland. The temperate (温带的) rainforests only occur in places close to the sea with high rainfall, high humidity (湿度) and low variations in temperature and full of plants and animals. The Celtic rainforests used to spread out all across the wetter areas of the country’s west. But over the centuries the ancient woodlands were later cleared and changed into grasslands for sheep and cattle. By the start of the 20th century, Britain had become the least-wooded country in Europe, with only small parts remaining in western coastal rainforest areas.
There’s a new rainforest coming back to Britain right now. A movement is underway across Britain to recover these forgotten ecosystems. And in Devon, the first step towards achieving that has just been completed. With the help of over 100 local volunteers, more than 2,500 native trees have been planted at Devon Wildlife Trust’s Bowden Pillars site, not far from the town of Totnes. It’s hoped that another 4,500 oak, rowan, alder, hazel, birch, willow and holly trees will be planted by the end of this winter and over the coming decades, and that they’ll grow to form a thriving (欣欣向荣的) temperate rainforest.
The recovery programme, led by The Wildlife Trusts, is happening across other parts of the country, including Cornwall and Pembrokeshire and has been boosted by a significant 38 million of funding from an insurance company.
Claire Inglis, a nature reserve officer at Devon Wildlife Trust, said, “The full grown temperate rainforest will take several decades to become established, but the advantages for nature will be much swifter. The mix of young trees planted among grasslands and hedges (树篱), along with our promise not to use chemicals, will be better for local butterflies and bees, along with local birds such as yellowhammers and barn owls. It will be fascinating to see how it develops.”
28.What was mainly responsible for Britain’s lost Celtic rainforest in the past
A.Low temperature. B.Animal farming.
C.Plant variation. D.High humidity.
29.What can we say about the movement across Britain
A.It’s worrying. B.It’s promising.
C.It’s unrealistic. D.It’s uncontrollable.
30.What does the underlined word “swifter” in the last paragraph mean
A.Further. B.More unlikely.
C.Quicker. D.More costly.
31.Which can be the best title for the text
A.A Story of Destruction About Britain’s Lost Rainforests
B.The Challenges of Reviving Celtic Rainforests in Britain
C.A Nationwide Effort to Revive Lost Rainforests in Britain
D.The Truth of the Disappearance of Britain’s Celtic Rainforests
Philadelphia, often referred to as Philly, is a major city located along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, a state in the northeastern United States. Founded in the 1680s by an Englishman William Penn, who also planned its layout (布局), the city was named Philadelphia — a word Penn understood to mean “city of brotherly love” in Greek.
Philadelphia served as the nation’s capital from 1785 to 1790. Earlier, it was the capital of the American colonies (殖民地) during most of the Revolutionary War against Britain. Philadelphia became the central meeting place for the “Founding Fathers” who created the United States government. The buildings where they worked can be seen today in an area called the Old City, or Independence National Historical Park. The main building is Independence Hall. That was where colonial leaders declared independence and later debated the creation of a government.
Near the park stands National Liberty (自由) Museum, housing over ninety paintings and sculptures, which represent the idea that liberty is a freedom that is easily broken. Several blocks away lies National Constitution (美国宪法) Center, a privately operated nonprofit museum that opened its doors in Philadelphia on July 4, 2003. The museum was created to increase public recognition of the Constitution, its history and its importance today. Visitors here are presented with the idea that the most important part of American constitutional democracy (立宪民主) is the individual citizen.
Philadelphia also offers plenty for visitors who are less concerned about history and more concerned about their stomachs. There are many food choices for foodies, including a typical sandwich — the Philly cheesesteak, usually made of thin pieces of meat covered with cheese, offered with onions and other toppings and served on a long roll. And where can the best Philly cheesestaak be found That question is the subject of much debate—one way to settle it: try them all and decide for yourself!
32.What did William Penn do with Philadelphia
A.He designed it in person. B.He named it with his language.
C.He ruined it and rebuilt it. D.He brought in Greek traditions.
33.What does paragraph 2 focus on about Philadelphia
A.Its historical unrest. B.Its main attractions.
C.Its architecture style. D.Its historical place.
34.Why was National Constitution Center founded
A.To increase profits for a private museum. B.To honor the makers of the Constitution.
C.To educate visitors about the Constitution. D.To collect opinions from ordinary citizens.
35.What does the author want to do through the debate in the last paragraph
A.Doubt the local food. B.Make an invitation to visitors.
C.Introduce a food recipe. D.Remind visitors to watch out for danger.
Too much stress harms us, but insufficient stress is actually just as harmful. 36 . Good stress has a very different effect on our bodies than the harmful stress. What can you do to introduce good stress into your life Search out the right amount
Life wasn’t exactly stress-free. Therefore, go outside your comfort zone to challenge yourself. Good stress can be like medicine. And like any medicine, the dose (剂量) determines the effectiveness. Growth happens when stress falls with the sweet spot — neither too much nor too little. 37 . Stay true to yourself
38 . If it feels forced, it’s probably harmful stress. Good stress isn’t about positively considering bad stress as good stress. It’s about purposefully taking on tasks that fulfill you — like a job that fits your values. Good stress should feel tough but rewarding, like training for a marathon you want to run — not one someone else signed you up for. 39
Physically stressing yourself in a good way can help you become mentally strong and vice versa For example, exercise energetically, briefly expose (使……体验) yourself to heat and cold, and diet control now and then through time-limited eating. These practices train your body to handle stress better while also building mental strength, turning possible harm into real toughness. Trust that you are made for some stress
Experiencing stress is not a mistake — it’s part of being human. Our human history is one of overcoming stress and becoming stronger because of it. Through repeat cycles of stress and recovery, we unlock our natural strength. 40 . Toughness is a muscle we can all build no matter where we are or what we are facing.
A.Choose meaningful challenges
B.It’s a gift we have received from our DNA
C.Make the most of your mind-body connection
D.You can’t control or avoid the long-term stress
E.The effects on us depend on the type and amount of stress
F.Ask yourself if the challenge matches what you really care about
G.In other words, push yourself into water and swim, but don’t let yourself in danger

He was a dog with a reddish gold face, his back legs bent and shaking. My sister Ann found him as he stood in the bend of our narrow country road. She got out of the car and approached him as he wagged his tail. Ann took him to our farmhouse, calling me and my husband Tony out to greet her underweight, tired, and messy (凌乱的) passenger.
Tony and I were willing and open for a dog in need to keep him overnight. That evening, we settled him into our outdoor dog channel (狗窝) with a blanket, food, and water. Though leaving him outdoors, we had a restless night and walked up several times to the kennel with a flashlight to check on him. We feared he would move around and get lost in the woods nearby or disappear in the river at a short distance.
The next day, I drove him to Animal Control to see if anyone had left a notice. But no one did. I decided to give this lovely fellow a home. I named him Marley.
After cleaning Marley, we arranged for him to sleep in the kitchen on a dog bed. The dog soon bounced back to life under our attentive care. From then on, he followed us everywhere—through the fields in the morning, into the kitchen at mealtime, and even curled up (蜷缩) by the fireplace in the evenings. His lively nature slowly woke him into our hearts.
However, his liveliness also brought about trouble. Marley’s bed was next to a door that was always closed with a latch (门闩) overnight to protect him from moving out. However, when we awoke in the morning one day, we discovered the latched door opened and Marley was nowhere to be found but appeared in our house soon. Tony and I thought we had forgotten to latch it. The next day it happened again.

W: Hi, my name is Sarah and I’d like to tell you about my favorite hobby, which is playing the guitar. I started learning to play the guitar about a year ago. At first, it was a bit challenging because I had never played any musical instrument before, but with practice and determination, I’ve made a lot of progress. I take guitar lessons once a week with a teacher who teaches me different skills, It’s really helpful to have someone guide me. In addition to my lessons, I also spend a lot of time practicing on my own. I usually practice for an hour every day. Sometimes, I play along with my favorite songs. Playing the guitar has not only improved my musical skills, but also has helped me develop patience. It’s a great way for me to relax and express myself creatively. I hope to continue playing the guitar and maybe even join a band someday.

根据第一段“But over the centuries the ancient woodlands were later cleared and changed into grasslands for sheep and cattle. (但几个世纪以来,这些古老的林地后来被清理并变成了放牧牛羊的草地)”可知,英国凯尔特雨林消失的主要原因是畜牧业的发展。故选B项。
29.推理判断题。根据第二段“A movement is underway across Britain to recover these forgotten ecosystems. (一场恢复这些被遗忘的生态系统的运动正在英国各地展开)”以及后文提到的植树计划和资金支持,可以看出这一运动充满希望。故选B项。
30.词义猜测题。根据最后一段“The full grown temperate rainforest will take several decades to become established, but the advantages for nature will be much swifter. (成熟的温带雨林需要几十年的时间才能形成,但是对自然的好处会更swifter)”,由but可知,前后形成转折,前面说需要的时间长,后面应表示好处来得快,所以“swifter”意为“更快的”。故选C项。
31.主旨大意题。根据第一段“The Celtic rainforests used to spread out all across the wetter areas of the country’s west. But over the centuries the ancient woodlands were later cleared and changed into grasslands for sheep and cattle.

根据第二段中“Philadelphia served as the nation’s capital from 1785 to 1790. Earlier, it was the capital of the American colonies (殖民地) during most of the Revolutionary War against Britain. Philadelphia became the central meeting place for the ‘Founding Fathers’ who created the United States government. (费城在1785年至1790年期间曾是美国首都。早些时候,在反对英国的大多数独立战争期间,它是美国殖民地的首都。费城成为创建美国政府的‘开国元勋’的中央集会地)”以及下文对费城历史地位的进一步阐述可知,第二段主要介绍了费城的历史地位。故选D。
34.细节理解题。根据第三段中“The museum was created to increase public recognition of the Constitution, its history and its importance today. (该博物馆的创建是为了提高公众对宪法、宪法历史及其当今重要性的认识)”可知,国家宪法中心的成立是为了教育参观者了解宪法。故选C。
35.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“And where can the best Philly cheesestaak be found That question is the subject of much debate—one way to settle it: try them all and decide for yourself! (哪里能找到最好的费城奶酪牛排三明治呢?这个问题一直是人们争论的焦点——解决这个问题的一个方法是:把所有的都尝一遍,然后自己决定!)”可知,作者通过最后一段的辩论想邀请游客来费城品尝美食。故选B。

【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了引入良性压力的四种方式。
36.根据上文“Too much stress harms us, but insufficient stress is actually just as harmful.(过多的压力会对我们造成损害,但压力过少也同样有害)”以及后文“Good stress has a very different effect on our bodies than the harmful stress. What can you do to introduce good stress into your life (良好的压力对我们身体的影响与有害压力截然不同。那么,你能做些什么来将良好的压力引入自己的生活呢?)”可知,后文提到了良好的压力,推测本句是在说明压力的类型带来的不同影响。故E选项“压力带给我们的影响取决于压力的类型和程度”符合语境,故选E。
37.根据上文“Life wasn’t exactly stress-free. Therefore, go outside your comfort zone to challenge yourself. Good stress can be like medicine. And like any medicine, the dose (剂量) determines the effectiveness. Growth happens when stress falls with the sweet spot — neither too much nor too little.(生活并非完全没有压力。因此,要走出自己的舒适区,挑战自我。适度的压力就像良药。就像任何药物一样,剂量决定了效果。只有当压力处于最佳状态——既不过多也不过少时——才能促进成长)”可知,本句总结上文提到的“适度压力”的核心——主动走出舒适区但避免承受过度的压力。故G选项“换句话说,把自己推入水中并学习游泳,但别让自己陷入危险”符合语境,故选G。
38.根据本段主旨“Stay true to yourself(忠于自我)”以及后文“If it feels forced, it’s probably harmful stress. Good stress isn’t about positively considering bad stress as good stress. It’s about purposefully taking on tasks that fulfill you — like a job that fits your values. Good stress should feel tough but rewarding, like training for a marathon you want to run — not one someone else signed you up for.(如果这种感觉显得很勉强,那很可能就是有害的压力。好的压力并非是将不良压力积极地视为良好的压力。好的压力是指有目的地承担那些能让你感到满足的任务——比如一份符合你价值观的工作。好的压力应该感觉艰难但有回报,就像你想要参加并为之努力训练的一场马拉松比赛——而不是是你被别人安排去参加的那种比赛)”可知,本句说明段落主题“忠于自我”的内涵。故F选项“问问自己这个挑战是否与你真正在意的事物匹配”符合语境,故选F。
39.根据本段内容“Physically stressing yourself in a good way can help you become mentally strong and vice versa (反之亦然). For example, exercise energetically, briefly expose (使……体验) yourself to heat and cold, and diet control now and then through time-limited eating. These practices train your body to handle stress better while also building mental strength, turning possible harm into real toughness.(以一种良好的方式对自身进行身体上的压力锻炼,能够帮助你增强心理素质,反之亦然。例如,进行高强度的运动,短暂地接触高温和低温环境,以及定期通过限时进食来控制饮食。这些做法能训练你的身体更好地应对压力,同时也能增强心理素质,将潜在的伤害转化为真正的坚韧)”可知,该段介绍了身心协同抗压的方法。故C选项“充分利用你的身心连接”符合语境,故选C。
40.根据上文“Experiencing stress is not a mistake — it’s part of being human. Our human history is one of overcoming stress and becoming stronger because of it. Through repeat cycles of stress and recovery, we unlock our natural strength.(经历压力并非错误之举——这是人类天性的一部分。人类的历史就是不断克服压力并因此变得更强大的历程。通过反复经历压力与恢复的过程,我们能够释放出自身内在的力量)”可知,上文提到,通过不断地经历压力和从中恢复,我们发现自己天生的优点。本句承接上文,总结这种特点的来源。故B选项“这是DNA赋予我们的礼物”符合语境,故选B。

67.参考范文:
Then on the third day, the mystery was solved. Tony and I decided to stay up late to observe Marley’s movements. We pretended to go to bed as usual but kept a close watch from the living room. Around midnight, we heard a soft clicking sound. Looking into the kitchen, we saw Marley standing on his hind legs, using his nose and paws to move the latch repeatedly until the door opened. Then he ran to the backyard, tail wagging proudly. Amazed, we realized Marley could open doors, and certainly had opened our hearts. We immediately fixed the latch to the high position to protect the beloved dog from danger.
One rainy afternoon, Marley escaped again and didn’t come back as usual. Despite our safety measure, he managed to open the door and disappeared into the storm. Panicked, Tony and I searched the neighborhood, calling his name and checking every possible hiding spot. Hours passed with no sign of him. Just as hope began to fade, a neighbor called, saying a wet, shivering dog had taken shelter under her porch. Rushing over, we found Marley curled up, his face messy but his eyes bright with recognition. Relief washed over us as we carried him home. That night, we strengthened our safety measure again, determined to keep our adventurous Marley safe.
