一、连词 “and，but，because”的含义和基本用法
（一）并列连词 and
表示 “并列、顺承或补充”，用来连接两个或多个意义相近、并列的单词、短语或句子，可翻译为“和、又、并且”的意思。
1、连接并列的单词
（1）连接名词：I like apples and bananas.
我喜欢苹果和香蕉。
（2）连接动词：She sings and dances well.
她唱歌和跳舞都很好。
（3）连接形容词：The room is big and bright.
这个房间又大又明亮。
2、连接并列的短语
（1）连接介词短语：We can play basketball and listen to music after school.
放学后我们可以打篮球和听音乐。
（2）连接动词短语：He gets up early and goes for a walk every morning.
他每天早上早起并去散步。
3、连接并列的句子
（1）表示顺承关系：I finished my homework and I watched TV.
我做完了作业，然后看了电视。
（2）表示并列关系：She is kind and everyone likes her.
她很善良，大家都喜欢她。
（二）并列连词but
表示 “转折，对比”，用来连接两个意义相反或相对的单词、短语或句子，可翻译为“但是，然而” 的意思，强调前后内容的对比。
1、连接并列的形容词或动词短语
（1）连接形容词：The shirt is cheap but nice.
这件衬衫很便宜，但很好看。
（2）连接动词短语：He tried hard but failed.
他努力了，但失败了。
2、连接并列的句子（相同的部分可省略）
（1）表示意义转折：I like English but my brother doesn’t （like English）.
我喜欢英语，但我弟弟不喜欢。
（2）表示情况对比：It’s sunny in the morning but （It’s）rainy in the afternoon.
早上天晴，但下午下雨了。
（三）从属连词because
表示 “原因”，用来引导原因状语从句，说明主句动作或情况发生的原因，可翻译为“因为” 的意思。通常与主句构成 “结果 + 原因” 或 “原因 + 结果” 的结构。
1、基本结构：主句 + because + 原因状语从句
（1）He is late because he missed the bus.
他迟到了，因为他没赶上公交车。
（3）I didn’t go out because it rained heavily.
我没出去，因为雨下得很大。
2、与 so（所以）的区别
because 和 so 不能同时出现在一个句子中，一个句子里只能出现其中一个。
例如：因为他生病了，所以待在家里。
（1）Because he is ill, he stays at home.√
（2）He stays at home because he is ill.√
（3）Because he is ill, so he stays at home.×
3、回答 why 引导的问句
例句：
—Why do you like pandas
你为什么喜欢熊猫？
—Because they are cute.
因为它们很可爱。
二、连词 “and，but，because”的易错知识点
（一）连词“and”的易错知识点
1、当“and”在否定句连接并列成分表示“都不”时，“and”要变成“or”
（1）I don’t like milk and bread.（表意不清）×
（2）I don’t like milk or bread.（表示“牛奶和面包都不喜欢”，表全部否定）√
特殊情况：若表 “部分否定”（即 “并非都不”），需用 and 搭配 both或者all一起使用
They aren’t good at both soccer and tennis.
→他们擅长其中一项，并非两者都擅长。
2、and 为并列连词，不可直接用于句首引导句子，连接两个并列分句时，前面加逗号。
（1）I get up at 7:00. And I have breakfast at 7:30.×
（2）I get up at 7:00, and I have breakfast at 7:30.√

1、but 和 though/although 不可同时出现，一个句子里只能出现其中一个。

虽然他年纪小，但是他很努力。
2、but 表转折，不可表因果
（1）I didn’t go out, but it rained.×
我没出去，但是天下雨了。
（2）I didn’t go out because it rained.√
我没出去，因为天下雨了。
3、but 前后需为完整分句，否定词位置要明确
（1）She can’t sing but dance.×
她不会唱歌但是跳舞。
（2）She can’t sing, but she can dance.√
她不会唱歌，但是她会跳舞。（表示“不会唱歌但会跳舞”）
