be sure 确信;确定
主要用法:
①be sure of/about...意为“确信······;对······有把握”,其后接名词、代词或动词 -ing 形式,若后面接反身代词,则只能用 be sure of,即 be sure of oneself,意为“对自己有信心”。
② be sure to do sth. 意为“务必/切记要做某事”常用于祈使句,表示说话人对对方提出要求。be sure to do sth. 还意为“一定做某事”,是说话人对主语的推测,主语可以是人也可以是物。
Be sure to give it back to me on time.
务必按时将它还给我。
③“be sure+(that) 从句”意为“确信······对······有把握”,主语必须是人。
Whether or not we′re successful,we can be sure that we did our best.
不管成功与否,我们确定尽了最大努力。

make sure 常用于祈使句中,表示请求或让对方按照要求做某事,其后可接 that 引导的宾语从句或 of 短语,of 是介词,其后动词要用 –ing 形式。
