音节
人们在发音时声带振动，发出一个响亮的音，这就是一个语音单位，即一个音节。一般来说，一个音节里有一个元音音素，这是音节的主体。
英语中，有的单词只有一个音节，叫单音节词。有的单词有两个或两个以上音节，叫双音节词或多音节词。
在双音节或多音节中有一个发音特别响亮的音节，叫重读音节，用重音符号“＇”标于重读音节的前面，其他音节为非重读音节。
所有的单音节词都需要重读，但不标重音符号。

Open Syllable(开音节)
1）以元音结尾的音节。(绝对开音节)
例：be, he,stu-dent。
2）以元音字母+辅音字母（r除外）+ 不发音的e结尾
的音节。(相对开音节)
例：make，like。
★在重读的开音节中元音字母按字母名称读音。
1.单音节词，本身就重读。

2.双音节词或多音节词，需要判断元音字母是否在重读音节上。

Closed Syllable(闭音节)
以辅音音素结尾的音节叫闭音节。
闭音节单词末尾可以只有一个辅音音素，也可以有多个辅音音素。
例：meet, bag, pet, sit, fox, bus等。
Pronunciation
元音字母a、e、i、o、u在重读开音节中的发音与它们字母本身的发音相同。
试比较：
ago / ɡ / age /e d /
before /b f r/ bee /bi /
today /t de / no /n /
元音字母在非重读音节里不是字母本身的发音
