A sense of warmth spread through me, as if my grandfather was right there, smiling at me. The smooth wood under my fingers made me remember my grandfather’s kind face. I didn’t want to lose it again. So, I turned to the shopkeeper, Mr. Johnson, and asked, “How much is this rocking horse ” Mr. Johnson looked at me and smiled. His eyes were kind as he said, “It’s been here for a while. I can give you a good price, just for you.”
With tears in my eyes, I bought the rocking horse. After so many years, the white horse, which accompanied me through my childhood, finally found its way home just like a long lost friend. Holding it in my arms, I headed for home with my kids. As we reached home, my heart was full of excitement. I couldn’t wait to share with my kids the wonderful times my grandfather and I had with this very horse. I was certain this old toy would not only preserve my memories but also create new, precious ones for my children, becoming an unforgettable part of their childhood.
