Grammar
The simple past
We use the simple past to talk about things that happened (or did not happen) in the past.
Last Saturday, our parents came to our school for the Art Festival. Students from different clubs performed on stage

动词 过去式
例词
大部分动词 +ed walk-walked
以-e结尾的动词 +d used-used
以-y结尾的动词 去y变i+ed carry-carried
以 “一个重读元音+ —个辅音”结尾(w或y结尾的除外）的动词 双写辅音字母+ed Plan-planned
Stop-stopped
不规则动词的过去式形式不以加-ed构成，需要逐个记忆。
一般过去时
一般过去时的用法
表示过去某一时间所发生的动作或存在的状态，一般与表示过去时间的状语连用。如：
Last night I watched TV for two hours.
昨晚我看了两小时电视。
She was ill last week. 她上周病了。
动词过去式的变化：
1 be动词：was, were
2 行为动词的过去式有以下几种变化形式：
(1) 一般的动词后直接加-ed。如： look → looked, attend → attended
(2) 以e结尾的动词后面直接加-d。如：complete → completed, save → saved
(3) 以辅音字母加y结尾的动词，变y为i，再加-ed。如：
worry → worried, study → studied
(4) 以重读闭音节结尾，末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词，先双写这个辅音字母，再加-ed。如： stop → stopped, plan → planned
(5) 不规则动词的过去式形式不以加-ed构成，需要逐个记忆。如：
go → went, keep → kept
常见的不规则动词变化详见课本附录Irregular verbs(《不规则动词表》)。
（行为动词）一般过去时的各种句式：
1 肯定句：主语+动词过去式+ ……。如
We went to the zoo yesterday. 我们昨天去动物园了。
Mike told us a funny story.
迈克给我们讲了一个很好笑的故事。
2 否定句：主语+did not(或didn’t)+动词原形+……。如：
I didn’t see Mary last night. 我昨晚没有见到玛丽。
She didn’t have breakfast this morning. 她今早没吃早餐。
3 一般疑问句：Did+主语+动词原形+……？
肯定回答：Yes, 主语+did.
否定回答：No, 主语+didn’t. 如：
— Did they attend the club last year
他们去年参加这个俱乐部了吗？
— Yes, they did. / No, they didn’t.
是的，他们参加了。（不，他们没参加。）
— Did he play basketball after school last Friday
他上周五放学后打篮球了吗？
— Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t. 是的，他打了。（不，他没打。）
4 特殊疑问句：疑问词+did+主语+动词原形+……？如：
When did you go to bed last night 你昨晚几点睡觉的？
What did your mother give you on your last birthday
你上次过生日时你妈妈送你什么了？
一般过去时的时间状语
常见的用于一般过去时态的时间状语：
yesterday, yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon,
yesterday evening
last night, last Sunday, last week, last month, last year
two hours ago, three days ago, ten years ago
