二、语调(Ⅰ)
英语中有两种最基本的语调,即降调和升调。
升调的基本含义是“不确定”和“未完结”,可表示犹豫、怀疑、婉转、含蓄、试探等含义。升调通常用于一般疑问句、陈述句表示疑问的各类句子,以及表示意义未完的各种情况。升调可以用于说话者不能确定信息是否准确,需要对方去核实的情况。
降调的基本含义是“肯定”和“完结”,通常用于陈述句、特殊疑问句、选择疑问句的后半部分、祈使句和感叹句等。
