We can add the suffix -ful or -less to some nouns to form adjectives. The suffix -ful means “full of”. The suffix -less means “without”.

TIP:
Not all words have both -ful and -less as suffixes. endful (×) endless (√)
构词法:形容词后缀-ful 和-less
e.g. fear→fearless (无畏的)
meaning→meaningless (无意义的)
(1) 名词+ 后缀-ful= 形容词,意为“充满……的”。
e.g. success→successful (成功的)
power→powerful (强大的)
(2) 名词+ 后缀-less= 形容词,意为“没有/ 缺少……的”。
My best friend Max is a cheerful person. He always looks on the bright side of things. He is also very helpful. Once I had a sleepless night because I was worried about a volleyball game. I felt helpless. The next day, Max came and gave me some useful advice.
