资源简介 Unit 4 My Favourite SubjectSection B(Project)Students are capable of designing a personalized weekly class timetable by applying the learned language knowledge. They can introduce the content of their timetable and explain the reasons in English clearly and fluently.Through group work, students can communicate their ideas, divide tasks and cooperate with each other, thus improving their teamwork ability and communication skills in English.Help students use adjectives accurately to describe the degree of preference for different subjects, such as using comparative and superlative forms correctly.Guide students to organize their language logically when expressing reasons for liking or disliking subjects, and avoid Chinese - English expressions.Ensure that every student in the group actively participates in group work and contributes to the completion of the project.1. Warming - upGreet the students as usual. Then, show some pictures of students in different classes on the PPT, such as a math class with numbers on the blackboard, a science class doing experiments, and an art class with paintings on the wall.Ask students: “Boys and girls, look at these pictures. Can you tell me what subjects they are having And which one is your favourite ” Encourage several students to answer the questions. For example, a student may answer: “I think the first one is a math class. My favourite subject is PE because I can play basketball in PE class.”2. RevisionReview the vocabulary of subjects learned before. Write the first letter of each subject on the blackboard, like “m” for “math”, “s” for “science” etc. and ask students to quickly say the full words.Review the key. Invite two students to come to the front of the class. One asks: “What’s your favourite subject ” and the other answers according to his/her preference. Then let them change roles. After that, ask more pairs of students to practice the dialogue.3. PresentationShow the learning objectives of this class on the PPT: “Today, we are going to design our own weekly class timetables and introduce them to the class. First, let's learn some useful expressions.”Teach new words and phrases related to the project. For example, “timetable”, explain it as “a list that shows the times at which particular events are to happen”. Write it on the blackboard and ask students to read it several times.Teach how to express the order of classes. Write on the blackboard: “the first class, the second class... the last class”. Let students read and remember.Present some sample sentences about introducing a class timetable, such as “My first class on Monday is Chinese. I like it because it's interesting and I can learn a lot of beautiful ancient poems.” Read the sentences slowly, explain the grammar and sentence structure, and ask students to repeat.4. Group WorkDivide the students into groups of four or five. Give each group a piece of paper and a pen.Instruct the students: “Now, each group designs a weekly class timetable. Consider your own preferences, but also make it reasonable. You need to fill in the subjects for each class of every day. When you are discussing, use the words and sentences we learned just now.”Walk around the classroom, listen to the students' discussions, and offer help when necessary. For example, if a student has trouble expressing his/her opinion, guide him/her to use the correct. If a group has an argument about which subject to arrange for a certain class, help them reach an agreement.5. ReportAfter the groups finish designing their timetables, ask each group to choose a representative to come to the front of the class and introduce their group's timetable. The representative should say something like this: “Hello, everyone. This is our group's weekly class timetable. On Monday, our first class is English. We all like English because our English teacher is very kind and funny. She always makes the class interesting... On Friday, our last class is PE. We are all looking forward to it because we can do sports and relax.”While the representative is reporting, other students in the class listen carefully. After the report, encourage the listening students to ask questions if they have any doubts about the group's timetable. For example, a student may ask: “Why do you have two math classes on Tuesday ” And the representative of the group should answer the question.6. EvaluationSet up some evaluation criteria on the PPT, such as “correct use of vocabulary and 句型 (30 points)”, “reasonable design of the timetable (30 points)”, “clear and fluent introduction (20 points)”, “good teamwork (20 points)”.Let the students in each group evaluate their own performance first according to the criteria, and then other groups evaluate their performance. Finally, the teacher gives a comprehensive evaluation. For example, for Group 1, the teacher may say: “Group 1, you used the vocabulary and 句型 correctly. Your timetable design is quite reasonable, considering both interests and study needs. The representative introduced it clearly. And from your discussion just now, I can see that you had good teamwork. So, your total score is 90 points.”Praise the groups with excellent performance and give some suggestions for improvement to the groups with relatively low scores.7. SummarySummarize the key points of this class with the students. Review the new words and phrases learned in this class, such as “timetable” and expressions about class order.Emphasize the importance of expressing preferences and reasons correctly. Ask students to remember to use these language skills in their daily life when talking about school subjects.Encourage students to continue exploring their interests in different subjects.8. HomeworkAsk students to write a short passage about their own ideal weekly class timetable. They should introduce each class in detail, including the subject, the reason why they like it (or don't like it if there is such a situation), and what they expect to learn from the class.Tell students to share their passages with their parents at home in English. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
