一、阅读理解
Nowadays, social media has become an important part of people’s life. People of all ages use it as a way of communication. But how can we show good manners when we use social media
Don’t say negative (消极的) things on social media.
Before you post anything online, take a few minutes to consider if it’s something you would say in person. If you say something negative online, you’ll pass your bad feelings to others.
Avoid posting other people’s pictures when they don’t know.
It seems interesting to post a funny picture of a friend online. But it would hurt their feelings if you post it without telling them. Talk to the person to make sure it’s okay with them. If they ask you not to post their pictures, then don’t do that.
Don’t share too much personal information online.
Over sharing can be sharing posts with personal information or just posting too many things in a day. Think about whether you want others to know about all that you’re sharing online. The most important thing is: never post ID card numbers, phone numbers or your home address online.
Don’t follow others to make any comments.
There are lots of things posted online every day, no matter whether they are good or bad. Sometimes it’s really difficult for us to find out what the truth is. If we follow others to write down our opinions to make comments, it may lead to the results that we are not able to pay for. So stay in silence and choose the right side.

“How was your weekend ” “Did you see the game on TV last night ” “Isn’t the weather beautiful today ” These questions and the answers to them are examples of “small talk” — the short, friendly talk that people have with friends and partners.
Some people avoid (避免) making small talk at work. They think they shouldn’t talk about things that aren’t important for the job, or their partners will think they aren’t serious about their work. And some people just don’t enjoy talking about themselves.
But small talk is important! Knowing how to make small talk is a skill that can help you a lot. By making small talk, you show that you are friendly and interested in your partners. You become a better team member. If you don’t make small talk, others might feel uncomfortable around you and think you’re unfriendly. Peter Harper, a manager (经理) at the Apex Company in the USA, says, “We always look for friendly workers who know how to communicate (交流) with each other and with our customers (客户).”
Here are some tips (提示) for successful small talk. You can talk about safe topics such as the weather, sports, hobbies, TV programs, and famous people like movie stars, singers, etc. You can also share some information about your family such as birthday parties and other family events, but don’t share very personal information like family problems. You can talk about the news too. But avoid topics on money, age, weight and so on.
Listening is an important part of small talk. Listen carefully to what the other person is saying and ask questions. Don’t just talk about yourself. And remember to smile! Making small talk takes practice. The more you do it, the better you’ll be at making small talk!

When we talk about communication, we often think of communicating with others. But do you know that we also do communication with ourselves from time to time Picture this: Your mom asks you what you would like for breakfast. Many foods come to your mind: pancakes, bread, porridge... You think that it would be great to have pancakes. Until you tell your mom what you want to eat, you are communicating with yourself.
We call this kind of communication intrapersonal communication (自我沟通). This can be talking to ourselves, reading, writing, thinking, understanding and remembering something.
Intrapersonal communication plays a big role in our lives. Good intrapersonal communication allows you to understand yourself better. When you’re comfortable with who you are, and you know what you want, you can better get on with yourself. Also, intrapersonal communication helps you to keep an eye on your thoughts and feelings. When you find that your mind is full of negative (消极的) thoughts and feelings, and they make you sad, you will try to cheer up and get rid of these bad thoughts and feelings.
