need to do: “需要做某事”
其中 “need” 是实义动词。当 “need” 作为实义动词时,有人称和数的变化,后面接动词不定式 “to do”。
例: “I need to get some sleep now.”(我现在需要睡一会儿)
“You need to take care of yourself.”(你需要照顾好自己)
“need” 根据主语的不同,形式也有所不同(I need,You need),并且后面都接了动词不定式来表示具体需要做的事情。

这里的 “need” 是情态动词。情态动词 “need” 没有人称和数的变化,后面接动词原形。
例:“You needn't stay up.”(你不必熬夜)
“needn't” 直接接动词原形 “stay up”,用来表示建议或推断。
