Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Review the chores learnt in the last class by asking students to recall and say them out.
Step 2 Work on 2a
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks in 2a.
2.Check the answers and have students read the conversation aloud.
Step 3 Work on 2b-2c
1.Ask students to read the conversation in 2a and answer the questions in 2b.
2.Ask students to complete the mind map in 2c with the information from 2a and add more things to the “other” section.
3.Check the answers and explain some useful language points in the conversation.
Step 4 Work on Pronunciation 2
1.Ask students to listen and read the short conversation,noticing the sense groups and pauses.
2.Ask students to listen again and practise speaking with the correct sense groups and pauses.
Step 5 Work on 2d-2e
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation again and role play it in pairs,focusing on the correct sense groups and pauses.
2.Ask students to make up conversations between Peter and his family by using the given information from 2e.
3.Choose several groups to share their conversations with the class.Give them some positive feedback.

  通过本节课的听说练习,学生对 Can/Could you please... 句型的掌握进一步加强,但在口语表达中,部分学生的意群划分和停顿不够准确,需要在后续教学中加强模仿和训练,同时应鼓励学生更积极主动地参与课堂讨论,分享自己做家务的经历。

一、单元内容分析
本单元属于 “人与自我” 主题范畴,涉及 “做人与做事” 主题群。通过探讨家务劳动、如何提出礼貌请求和寻求许可、让家变得更舒适的方式以及“家”的内涵,学生能够学会相关的词汇、句型和语法知识,提升语言运用能力,同时增强对“家”的理解和热爱。
Section A主要引导学生谈论在家所做的家务,通过听说活动熟悉常见家务活动的表达,学会运用 can/could 提出礼貌请求和寻求许可,并掌握字母o、u 和字母组合 or、oor、oo、ar在单词中的发音规则。
Section B则借助阅读故事、诗歌和观点分享,引导学生深入思考家的意义,体会家所蕴含的情感,并学会用英语描述家人为家所做的事情以及自己对家的感受。

1.重点:

3.Check the answers and ask students to summarize what each family member did to make home full of love.
4.Ask students to read the story again and complete the sentences in 1c.Then find more examples from the text.
5.Check the answers and explain some important language points.
Step 3 Work on 1d
1.Ask students to read the poem and opinions.Then discuss their understanding of “home” in groups.
2.Invite several students to share their ideas in class.
Step 4 Work on 2a-2c
1.Ask students to complete the puzzle with the new words in this unit according to the clues.
2.Ask students to match the words in column A with those in column B and then use the phrases to complete the sentences.
3.Ask the students to read the letter in 2c and complete it with the words in the box.Check the answers and explain some useful language points.
Step 5 Work on 3a
1.Let students read Zhang Peng’s email and find out what he asks his friend to do.
2.Check the answers together and explain some important language points.

1.Ask students to put the things in order to see how Zhang Peng organizes his ideas in writing.
2.Ask students to write an email to ask a friend to help decorate their room using the given list of things.Walk around to monitor students’ progress and offer help if necessary.
3.Select a few students to share their emails with the class.After each sharing,encourage the rest of the class to give feedback and suggestions.
4.Summarize the common problems found in students’ writings and give some tips on how to improve their writing skills.

1.Greet the class and review the importance of family and home by asking students to share their new understandings.
2.Introduce the task of finding out who does the most chores at home and the goals students can achieve through it.
Step 2 Work on 4a-4b
1.Divide students into groups.Each group ticks the chores they do at home and adds more.
2.Let students do a class survey and ask their classmates the questions:“What chores do you do How often do you do chores What do you think about doing chores ”
Step 3 Work on 4c-4d
1.Each group reports their findings to the class.
2.After each presentation,the other students can ask questions or give comments and suggestions.Then the class find out who does the most chores at home.
Step 4 Work on Reflecting
1.Let students answer the questions in Reflecting.Know about what words and expressions they can use to talk about their home and whether they can use can or could to make polite requests and ask for permission,etc.
2.Ask students to share their answers with the class.
3.Give some suggestions and exercises for improvement according to the students’ answers.

1.Ask students to look at the chores in 1a and tick the ones they do at home.They can also add more activities.
2.Invite some students to share their choices.
Step 3 Work on 1b-1c
1.Play the recording for the first time.Ask students to listen carefully and tick the things that Jim’s dad asks him to do in the first conversation and match the people with what they will do in the second conversation.
2.Check the answers and play the recording again for students to listen and repeat the sentences.
3.Play the recording once more.This time,ask students to pay attention to the details and some useful expressions.
Step 4 Work on 1d
1.Divide students into pairs.Let them make a conversation with the chores from 1a.
2.Invite several pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class.
Step 5 Work on Pronunciation 1
1.Play the recording of the words in Pronunciation 1.Ask students to listen and repeat,focusing on the pronunciation of or,oor,o,oo,u,ar.
2.Ask students to add one more word to each group by themselves.Then let them share their words with the class,emphasizing the correct pronunciation.
