◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.Review the vocabulary of describing differences learnt in the last class by asking students to describe two classmates using these words.
2.Show a picture of twins and ask students some questions:“What do you think of twins Are they always the same ”
Step 2 Work on 2a-2b
1.Ask students to read the interview in 2a first.Then play the recording of the conversation.Ask students to listen and fill in the blanks.
2.Ask students to read the conversation again and answer the questions in 2b.Let them discuss in pairs and then share their answers with the class.
3.Check the answers.Ask students to read the conversation aloud to better understand the content.
Step 3 Work on Pronunciation 2
1.Ask students to listen to the dialogue recording in Pronunciation 2 and notice the intonation.
2.Play the recording again for students to check and practise reading the dialogue with the correct intonation.
Step 4 Work on 2c
1.Listen to the conversation in 2a again and ask students to pay attention to the intonation.
2.Divide students into pairs and ask them to role play the conversation,focusing on the correct intonation.
Step 5 Work on 2d-2e
1.Ask students to add words to each aspect (Appearance,Personality,Habit,Strength) to make more comparisons.Encourage them to think creatively.
2.Divide students into pairs.In 2e,ask them to compare themselves with their partners using the ideas from 2d.Then ask them to answer the questions below:“How are you different from each other What do you have in common What can you learn from each other ” Walk around to listen to their conversations and offer guidance.
3.Invite some pairs to share their conversations with the class and give them comments and suggestions for improvement.

　　本课时通过多样化的活动,学生对比较级的运用有了进一步提升,在从不同方面比较人物时也有了更深入的思考。然而,在运用比较级进行对话时,部分学生的表达不够准确和丰富,后续应加强口语练习提升学生的语言表达能力。

一、单元内容分析
本单元属于 “人与社会” 主题范畴,涉及 “社会服务与人际沟通” 主题群。通过比较人和事物、讨论朋友间的异同、谈论自身与他人的差异以及探究差异的重要性,学生能够学习并运用比较级相关的词汇、句型和语法知识,提升语言表达能力,同时培养学生对人际交往中异同的理解和尊重,并学会合作互补。
Section A聚焦于比较人和事物,通过听说读写活动让学生掌握描述差异的词汇,学会运用比较级句型进行比较,如描述外貌、性格、习惯和能力等方面的差异,并要求学生掌握字母a、e、o和字母组合 er、ir、ur、ear、or在单词中的发音规则以及句子的语调。
Section B则深入探讨朋友之间的异同,通过阅读论坛帖子和分析不同观点,引导学生思考相似性和差异在友谊中的作用,培养学生批判性思维和表达个人观点的能力。
二、单元教学目标
1.让学生熟练掌握描述差异的词汇和比较级句型,能准确运用比较级对人和事物进行比较。

三、单元重难点
1.重点:
(1)学生熟练掌握描述朋友之间异同的词汇和比较级句型。
(2)学生能掌握字母a、e、o和字母组合 er、ir、ur、ear、or在单词中的发音规则以及句子的语调。
(3)学生能够运用所学知识对人和事物进行多方面的比较和描述。
2.难点:
(1)正确运用比较级句型,准确区分形容词和副词的比较级形式,以及比较级的不规则变化。
(2)引导学生深入思考并清晰、有条理地表达自己对朋友间异同的看法,以及差异在人际交往中的意义。
(3)帮助学生在写作中运用比较级,描述人物或事物的差异,提升写作能力。

Step 1 Leading in
　　Greet the class.Share some pictures or short stories about friendship and ask students some questions:“Do you think friends should be similar or different Why ” Let students discuss in groups and share their ideas.
Step 2 Work on 1a
1.Ask students to talk with their partner about whether they are similar to or different from their friends and give examples.
2.Invite some pairs to share their conversations with the class and correct any mistakes in pronunciation or grammar.
Step 3 Work on 1b-1d
1.Ask students to read the posts quickly and find out Matt’s and Diana’s opinions.
2.Then ask students to match the people with the descriptions in 1c.Check the answers together.
3.Ask students to read the posts again carefully and answer the questions in 1d.Let them discuss in pairs and then share their answers with the class.
Step 4 Work on 1e
1.Organize a class discussion.Ask students to discuss the questions:“What can similarities bring to a friendship What can differences bring to a friendship What really matters in a friendship ”
2.Let students share their ideas and experiences.Encourage them to listen to others’ opinions and have a deeper understanding of friendship.
Step 5 Work on 2a-2c
1.In 2a,ask students to find the words hidden in the word snake and match them with the meanings.Check the answers and explain the meaning of each word if necessary.
2.For 2b,ask students to complete the sentences with the words in the box.Let them work individually and then check their answers with a partner.
3.In 2c,ask students to complete the passage with the correct forms of the words in the box.Walk around to help students and check the answers later.
Step 6 Work on 3a
1.Ask students to read Rose’s post in 3a.Then ask them to compare Rose’s opinion with the posts in Section B 1b.Let them discuss in groups and share their findings.
2.Check the answers together and explain some important language points.
Step 7 Work on 3b-3c
1.Ask students to think about their own opinion on whether friends should be similar or different.Ask them to fill in the table with their reasons and examples.
2.Based on the table in 3b,ask students to write their reply to the post in 3c.Walk around to monitor students’ writing process and offer help if needed.
3.After students finish writing,select a few students to share their writings with the class.Encourage other students to give feedback and suggestions.

Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and review the key points of this unit,such as vocabulary about differences and the usage of comparatives.
2.Introduce the project task of “See who changed the most” and explain the goals and importance of this activity.
Step 2 Work on 4a-4b
1.Ask students to think about whether they changed a lot after entering junior high school.Let them consider different aspects like physical,mental,study,sports.
2.Divide students into pairs.In 4b,let them ask each other the questions in the table and fill in their answers.Encourage them to share their experiences and feelings.
Step 3 Work on 4c-4d
1.Ask students to create their growth charts in 4c.They can give examples and add photos or videos if possible.Walk around to offer help and inspiration.
2.In 4d,ask students to share their growth charts in class.After each sharing,ask other students to ask questions or give comments.Then find out who changed the most in the class.
Step 4 Work on Reflecting
1.Ask students to answer the questions in Reflecting.Know about what words and expressions they can use to make comparisons and how to benefit from similarities and differences,etc.
2.Let students share their answers with the class.Summarize the common points and give some suggestions for improvement according to their answers.Encourage students to review and consolidate the knowledge they learnt in this unit.

　　通过本课时的活动,学生积极参与调查和分享,对自己的成长有了更清晰的认识,但在制作成长图表时,部分学生对信息的整理和呈现不够清晰。在反思环节,部分学生对知识的总结不够全面,对如何将所学运用到实际生活中思考不足。后续教学应加强对学生信息整理和归纳能力的培养,引导学生更深入地思考知识与生活的联系,提高学生的综合素养。

1.Greet the class and start a free talk.Ask students some questions:“Do you have a friend Are you and your friend similar or different ” Let students share their ideas briefly.
2.Show some pictures of pairs of people with obvious differences (for example,one is tall and the other is short,one is outgoing and the other is shy) and ask students to observe and describe what they see.
Step 2 Work on 1a
1.Ask students to look at the words in 1a.Explain the meaning of each word if necessary.Then ask them to match each word with its opposite.
2.Check the answers together.Invite students to read the word pairs aloud to reinforce the vocabulary.
Step 3 Work on 1b-1d
1.Play the recording for the first time.Ask students to listen carefully and complete the sentences in 1b.
2.Play the recording again and ask students to answer the question in 1c.
3.Play the recording once more.Ask students to listen and match the characters with the correct descriptions in 1d.
4.Check the answers.Let students read the descriptions and make sure they understand the differences between the characters.
Step 4 Work on 1e
1.Divide students into pairs.Ask them to use the information from 1d to make comparisons.Walk around the classroom to monitor students’ conversations.Offer help if they have any problems.
2.Then invite several pairs to share their conversations in front of the class.
Step 5 Work on Pronunciation 1
1.Play the recording of the words in Pronunciation 1.Ask students to listen and repeat,focusing on the pronunciation of er,ir,ur,ear,or,a,e,o.
2.Ask students to add one more word to each group by themselves.Then let them share their words with the class,emphasizing the correct pronunciation.

1.Greet the class and review the comparative form by asking students to make sentences using some adjectives and adverbs.
2.Write some sentences on the blackboard,some with correct comparative forms and some with mistakes.Ask students to find the mistakes and correct them.
Step 2 Work on 3a
1.Ask students to read the sentences in 3a.Then ask them to notice the comparatives in bold and find more examples in Section A.
2.Have a class discussion.Ask students to explain the meaning and usage of each comparative in the sentences.Encourage them to share their understandings.
Step 3 Work on 3b
1.Ask students to look at the words in brackets in 3b.Explain the task of writing questions and answers using the comparative form.
2.Let students work individually to complete the task.Then ask them to check their answers with a partner.
3.Invite several students to share their questions and answers with the class.Correct any mistakes and give feedback.
Step 4 Work on 3c
1.Show the chart in 3c to students.Explain the information about Guangzhou and Vancouver.
2.Ask students to complete the sentences to compare the two cities using the words in the box and than.Walk around to help students if they have difficulties.
3.Check the answers.Ask students to read the completed sentences aloud.Then ask them to make more comparisons about the two cities based on the chart information.

　　本课时通过多种练习方式巩固了学生对比较级的掌握,但在运用所给单词编写句子时,部分学生对句子结构和比较级的变化规则仍不够熟悉,导致错误较多。在根据图表进行城市比较描述时,部分学生不能很好地整合信息,表达不够准确。后续教学需针对学生的薄弱环节,增加专项练习,提高学生运用比较级的准确性和熟练度。
