一、单元内容分析
本单元属于 “人与自我” 主题范畴,涉及 “生活与学习” 主题群。通过本单元的学习,学生能用英语谈论梦想职业、使用 “be going to” 结构表达未来计划、阅读和撰写新年决心以及探索自我提升的方法,同时思考自己的目标,增强自我规划意识。
Section A主要引导学生讨论梦想职业和实现梦想的途径,通过听说活动熟悉常见职业表达,掌握 “be going to” 结构的用法,并学习字母h、w、c、k、s和字母组合wh、th、ck、qu、sh在单词中的发音规则。
Section B则侧重于探讨如何制定好的计划,通过阅读文章了解新年决心的含义、常见类型、难以坚持的原因及实现方法,引导学生深入思考自我提升规划的重要性,并学会用英语描述自己的计划和决心。
二、单元教学目标
1.学生能熟练运用 “be going to” 结构表达未来计划和打算,准确描述自己的梦想职业及实现途径。

3.学生能够用英语阅读和撰写关于未来计划和新年决心的文章,提升读写能力。

三、单元重难点
1.重点:
(1)让学生熟练掌握 “be going to” 结构的用法。
(2)让学生掌握字母h、w、c、k、s和字母组合wh、th、ck、qu、sh在单词中的发音规则。
(3)让学生掌握重点词汇和短语,并能在实际情境中正确运用。
(4)让学生学会用英语描述梦想职业、未来计划和新年决心。
2.难点:
(1)引导学生在实际情境中正确运用 “be going to” 结构。
(2)帮助学生理解并表达不同类型的新年决心,以及制定可实现计划的方法。
(3)培养学生在写作中清晰、有条理地阐述未来计划和决心的能力。

Step 1 Leading in
  Greet the class.Share some short videos about people making plans or setting goals to lead in the topic.
Step 2 Work on 1a-1c
1.Ask students to discuss the questions in 1a with a partner.Invite several students to share their ideas in class.
2.Ask students to read the text Making Resolutions and put the four sentences in the correct places.
3.Ask students to read the text again and match each paragraph with its main purpose in 1c.
4.Check the answers together and ask students to summarize the main idea of the text.
Step 3 Work on 1d-1e
1.Ask students to complete the mind map with the information from the text in 1d.
2.Check the answers and explain some important language points.
3.Ask students to discuss the questions in 1e in groups.Invite several students to share their ideas in class.
Step 4 Work on 2a-2c
1.Ask students to write the jobs based on the definitions in 2a.Then add more for their partner to guess.
2.Ask students to write their own sentences using the words in brackets in 2b.Check the answers and ask students to share their sentences.
3.Ask students to complete the passage with the correct forms of the words in the box in 2c.Check the answers and explain some useful language points.
Step 5 Work on 3a
1.Ask students to read the text and complete the table in 3a.
2.Check the answers together and explain some important language points.
Step 6 Work on 3b-3c
1.Ask students to write down the things they want to improve and their resolutions in 3b.Then ask them to use the notes they wrote to write three paragraphs in 3c,including what they are going to improve and how.Walk around to monitor students’ progress and offer help if necessary.
2.Select a few students to share their writings with the class.After each sharing,encourage the rest of the class to give positive feedback and suggestions.
3.Summarize the common problems found in students’ writings and give some tips on how to improve their writing skills.

Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and review the importance of making plans by asking students to share their new understandings.
2.Introduce the task of making plans for solving problems and the goals students can achieve through it.
Step 2 Work on 4a-4b
1.Divide students into groups.Each group discusses what problems there are in their class or at school and makes a list of the problems and the reasons why they exist in 4a.
2.Then ask students to write down some plans to solve the problems in 4b.
Step 3 Work on 4c
1.Each group prepares a presentation to share their plans with the whole class.
2.After each presentation,the other students can ask questions or give comments and suggestions.Then the class select the three best plans.
Step 4 Work on Reflecting
1.Let students answer the questions in Reflecting.Know about what their dream job is,how they are going to achieve their goal and what expressions they can use to talk about future plans.
2.Ask students to share their answers with the class.
3.Give some suggestions and exercises for improvement according to the students’ answers.

2.Ask students to discuss what jobs interest them.Then ask them to share their answers and explain their choices.
Step 3 Work on 1b-1c
1.Play the recording for the first time.Ask students to listen carefully and circle the three jobs they hear in the conversations.
2.Play the recording again.Ask students to listen and match the names with the statements about what each student is going to do.
3.Check the answers and play the recording once more for students to listen and repeat.
Step 4 Work on 1d
1.Divide students into pairs.Let them talk about the jobs that John,Jason,and Tina want to do using the patterns:“What does...want to be when he/she grows up He/She wants to be...How is he/she going to realize his/her dream He/She is going to...”
2.Invite several pairs to share their conversations with the class.
Step 5 Work on Pronunciation 1
1.Ask students to listen and repeat the words in the table,focusing on the pronunciation of h,wh,w,th,c,k,ck,qu,s,sh.
2.Ask students to add one more word to each group by themselves and share with the class,emphasizing the correct pronunciation.

Step 2 Work on 2a
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
2.Check the answers and have students read the conversation aloud.
Step 3 Work on 2b
1.Ask students to read the conversation in 2a and decide whether those statements are T or F in 2b.
2.Check the answers and explain some useful language points in the conversation.
Step 4 Work on Pronunciation 2
1.Ask students to listen and read the short conversation.Then ask them to notice how the italicized words are pronounced.
2.Ask students to listen again and practise speaking with the correct pronunciation.
Step 5 Work on 2c-2d
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation again and role play it in pairs,focusing on the correct pronunciation.
2.Then let students ask their classmates about their dream jobs and how they are going to make their dreams come true,using the given jobs and sentence patterns in 2d.
3.Choose several students to share their conversations with the class.Give them some positive feedback.
