一、单元内容分析

Greet the class and start a short conversation,such as asking students what rules they had to follow on their way to school that day.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Ask students to look at the picture about Rules around us.
2.Divide students into pairs to discuss the questions:“What kinds of rules do you need to follow in daily life ” and “Can you give an example ”
3.Walk around the classroom to listen to their discussions and offer help if needed.Then,invite some pairs to share their answers with the class.
Step 3 Work on Activity 2
1.Ask the students read the quotes and think about the meaning of the quotes.Then,ask them to share their understanding in groups.
2.Each group selects a representative to report their group’s ideas to the class.Encourage students to explain why they agree or disagree with a particular quote.
Step 4 Summary
  Summarise the main points of the class,emphasising the importance of rules.

Step 1 Leading in
Greet the class and briefly review the key points of this unit,such as different types of rules,the grammar of the infinitive of purpose,and the importance of rules in various situations.
Step 2 Designing the rule board
1.Have students work in groups and choose an area of school life to focus on.
2.Each group discusses the problems in the chosen area and thinks about rules that could solve these problems.They should also consider why these rules are important.
3.Provide an outline for the rule board and offer some language tips.
4.Let students design their rule boards.Walk around to offer help if students have difficulties.Encourage them to be creative in presenting their rules.
Step 3 Presentation and voting
1.Have each group practise presenting their rule board within the group.
2.Invite groups to present their rule boards to the class one by one.Encourage the audience to listen carefully and take notes.
3.After all the presentations,vote on the best three rule boards and the best three presentations.
Step 4 Reflection
1.Have students think about what they have learnt in this unit.
2.Ask some students to share their ideas about the unit learning.
3.Distribute a self evaluation form for students to evaluate their learning in this unit.
4.Ask students to share their problems during the learning process and invite other students to give advice.

2.Share a short story about someone breaking rules in a public place to introduce the reading passage.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Have students look at the picture and answer the questions.
2.Ask some students to share their ideas.
Step 3 Work on Activity 2 to 4
1.Have students read the passage quickly and answer the question:“How did the passengers on a train break rules ”
2.After reading,ask students to read the passage again carefully.This time,they need to choose another suitable title for the passage and complete the table about what happened,how the writer felt,and the actions the writer took.
3.Ask some students to share their answers and check the answers.
Step 4 Think and share
1.Organise students to discuss in groups:“What do you think will happen next in the story ” and “Have you ever seen people break some rules What did you do ”
2.Ask students to share their group discussions with the class.Encourage students to think creatively about the story’s development and draw on their own experiences.
Step 5 Group work
1.Have a class discussion on how to encourage people to follow rules in public places.
2.Ask students to write a short paragraph about a time when they saw someone break a rule and how they felt about it.They can use the words and expressions from the passage.

2.Ask students to brainstorm what risks they might face when using the internet.
Step 3 Work on Activity 2 and 3
1.Have students read the online guide quickly to check the answers.
2.Ask students to read the guide again carefully.This time,they need to complete the notes about online safety rules.
3.Check the answers.
Step 4 Work on Activity 4
1.Have students discuss the questions in Activity 4 in groups.
2.Ask some students to share their answers and check the answers.
Step 5 Think and share
1.Have students work in group and think the questions:“Why does the writer mention a situation from the past at the beginning ” “Why do people need to make new rules ” and “Can you think of other important rules for online safety ”
2.Ask some groups to share their ideas.
Step 6 Work on Activity 5
1.Guide students to analyse the structure of the online safety guide.
2.Present the steps for writing a rule list for new things of modern life.
3.Help students choose a new thing of modern life,like online shopping or using AI.Then,guide them to do research and take notes based on the given questions.
4.Have students write their rule lists.Walk around the classroom to offer writing guidance.
5.After students finish writing,ask them to check their rule lists.
6.Invite some students to share their rule lists with the class.Encourage other students to listen carefully and give feedback.

Step 2 Work on Activity 1 and 2
1.Play the radio programme for the first time.Ask students to listen carefully and choose the topic of the programme.
2.Check the answer and play the programme again.This time,ask students to complete the notes.
3.Ask students to share the answers and check the answers.
Step 3 Work on Activity 3
1.Play the debate part.Ask students to listen and complete the arguments.
2.Play the debate part one more time.Check the answers and ask students to focus on how Tom and Xinyan debate.
Step 4 Work on Activity 4
1.Have students work in pairs to talk about how Tom and Xinyan debate.Encourage them to use expressions in p104.
2.Divide students into groups and carry on the debate.Each group chooses a side (for or against the topic “Is it ever OK to break rules ”) and prepares for a debate.Walk around the classroom to offer help and guidance.
3.Invite some groups to have a debate in front of the class.Have other students watch and give feedback.

1.Organise a grammar game.Divide students into groups.
2.Each group is given a set of actions.They need to quickly come up with sentences using the infinitive of purpose to describe the purpose of these actions.The group that finishes first and has the most correct sentences wins.

1.Have students work in pairs.
2.Have students share their own story of following rules.
3.Invite some pairs to show their conversations in front of the class.
