History is my favourite subject, but my sister doesn't like it. I like Chinese because it's fun. He doesn't like maths because it's boring to him. T: Can you tell me what you notice about these words S: They connect different parts of the sentences. T: Very good! Now let's explore their specific uses. （三）知识点讲解 1. We use “because" to give a reason. （举例说明） I like Chinese because it's fun. He doesn't like maths because it's boring to him. 2. We use "and" to give another idea. （举例说明） I have art and geography today. English is important, and my English teacher is really nice. 3. We use "but" to give two different ideas. （举例说明） Biology is difficult but important. History is my favourite subject, but my sister doesn't like it. （四）课堂练习 3a Read the sentences. Find out when to use and, but, and because. Then complete the statements with and, but, or because. 1. We use “____" to give a reason. 2. We use "____" to give another idea. 3. We use "____" to give two different ideas. （学生完成练习后，教师巡视并指导，然后请学生回答，进行互动交流） T: Who can share your answers for the first one S1: We use "because" to give a reason. T: Great! How about the second one S2: We use "and" to give another idea. T: Well done! And the last one S3: We use "but" to give two different ideas. T: Excellent! Let's move on to the next exercise. 3b Match the two parts to make sentences. 1. I have a bicycle, ____ and he often helps me with my English. 2. I like to learn about IT ____ because I like travelling. 3. She likes to listen to music ____ but I like my art teacher a lot. 4. He is good at English, ____ and draw pictures. 5. My favourite subject is geography ____ but I often walk to school. 6.
