Did you ever taste strawberries just picked from the plant Yesterday, I did that.
It was early in the morning. All of us wore our thick socks and waterproof sneakers (防水运动鞋). We each took a basket to put the strawberries in. We were sure to have a happy trip.
I always thought strawberries grew on trees. But that morning, I saw a number of small bushes (丛) growing next to each other in lines (行). There were no strawberry trees at all!

What a day! I started at my new school this morning and had the best time there. I made lots of new friends and really liked my teachers. I was nervous the night before, but I had no reason to be nervous. Everyone was so friendly and polite. They made me feel at ease. It was like I’d been at the school for a hundred years!
The day started very early at 7:00 am. I had my breakfast downstairs with my mum. She could tell that I was very nervous. She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn’t love me, Mum said she was going to talk it over with them. I couldn’t stop laughing.
I got off the car at the school gate about five minutes before the bell. A little blonde (金发的) girl got off at the same time and started waving (招手) at me. She told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close quickly. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home together! Our teacher told us that tomorrow we would really start learning and developing new skills.
