It's good to have friends who we can talk to and share our thoughts and opinions with.More importantly, they're people we can ask for help or advice, but recently it seems that many of us are developing a new relationship with a mystery person we'll never meet.
It is virtual assistants or bots-pieces of software that we can talk to and they can talk back to us. They might be on your phone or computer. They are changing the way we interact(互动) with technology--instead of typing on a computer keyboard or tapping on a tablet(平板电脑),we can now speak and a voice will answer.
The people behind these voices are called conversation designers. Tom Hewitson is one of them. He told BBC,“This is kind of changing computers into agents. They are active participants in the interaction and lead you to make the right decision.” So he said this technology has the ability to think for itself and make its own decisions.
It is a scary thought that this virtual voice can think for you. They can help you book train tickets and give you the latest weather news or even tell you a joke. But one thing we can't do yet is to make chit-chat or small talk with it. We have to change the way we speak.
There is no doubt that this technology will soon be common in our lives. Last year Google Duplex was revealed, described by the company as AI “for achieving real-world tasks over the phone". It's a type of chat bot that will allow you to, for example, chat to your hairdresser about when they can fit you in for a cut. Other companies are working on similar things. But before they perfect this new technology, don't forget who your real friends are!
According to the text, virtual assistants can .
A. help us solve any problem B. make response to us
C. type on computer keyboards D. tap on our tablets
10.What does Tom Hewitson do
A. A conversation designer. B.A BBC reporter.
C.A decision maker. D.A Google spokesman.
11.What does the author think of virtual assistants
A. They are puzzling. B. They will be popular.
C.They have controlled human beings. D. They make no difference.
12.What does the author really want to discuss in the text
A.How we benefit from virtual assistants.
B. What helps improve the new technology.
C.Why people are developing a relationship with virtual assistants.
D.Whether virtual assistants can take the place of our real friends.

Things That Really Smart People Do Quiet Thoughts or Feelings Inside Your Head
It's the voice that brings up your own opinions about the information being provided. It's too easy to pay more attention to the inner voice than the actual speaker. That voice often stops you from listening openly to good information. Focus less on what your brain says and more on the speaker. You may be surprised at what you hear.
Every time you hear yourself going against the speaker, stop and take the other point of view. Suggest to your brain all the reasons why the speaker may be correct and you may be wrong. In the best case, you may open yourself to the information being provided. Even if failing that, you'll at least strengthen your own argument.
Some people are naturally curious and others are not.No matter which group you belong to, you can benefit from acting like a curious person. Next time you are listening to information, make up and write down three to five relevant questions. In this way, you'll likely learn more and the action of thinking up questions will help put the concept(概念)in your brain.
No concept of theory comes out of thin air.Somewhere in the carefully organized concept that sounds like complete nonsense(荒谬),there are some aspects based on facts. Even if you don't accept an idea, you should at least prove the little bit of truth from which it came.
Focus on the Arguments
B.Argue With Yourself
Act Like You Are Curious
D. Find the Small Part of Truth
