Student Analysis: When talking about movies, the students must be excited. And because of the knowledge learned from the first period, the students are more familiar with relative clauses. But for sure, they have not mastered them.

重点 Key words: stick, down, dialog, ending, documentary, drama, plenty, shut, superhero. Key phrases: stick to (doing), cheer sb. up, plenty of, shut off, seem less serious, in time, once in a while. Key sentences: While some people stick to one kind of movie, I like to watch different kinds depending on how I feel that day. When I’m down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me up. After I watch them, my problems suddenly seem less serious and I feel much better again. I can just shut off my brain, sit back and enjoy watching an exciting superhero who always saves the world just in time.

But when it comes to the language points in Section A, they may still have trouble. Textbook Analysis: So this period is mainly to teach the students the key language points in Section A. and in order that the students can master the language points, some relevant exercises are going to be presented eto help them to strengthen the learning.
核心素养目标 Be able to understand the key language points and master the usage of them. Be able to work out the problems in the practice after learning the language points. Be able to put what is learned into practical use actively so as to promote one’s learning efficiency.

Ⅰ. Warm-Up Grammar Focus 【4min】 Review Oral test【4min】 Lead the students to read and translate the sentences in Grammar Focus. Give the students four chances to read the article of 3a to test their oral ability. Read the sentences in Grammar Focus all together in English twice and then translate them into pete to get the chances to read the passage and try one’s best to get a higher mark.
Ⅱ. Presentation Language points 【6min】 Present the students the key language points in Section A on PPT one by one. Give necessary explanation that the students need. e.g: 提供各词搭配对比 ①provide sb. with sth. provide sth. for sb. ②offer sb. sth. offer sth. to sb. Learn the language points carefully and take notes when there is necessity. ③supply sb. with sth. suppy sth. To sb. ④give sb. sth. give sth. to sb.

Check the answers of the exercises one by pete to finish the exercises within the limited time. Revise one’s answers carefully. Copy the exercises which one makes mistakes on.
Ⅳ. Promotion Reinforcement 4a-4c 【6min】 Have the students finish the tasks in 4a to 4c to consolidate the learning of Section A. Finally, check the answers all together. Do the exercises in 4a-4c, and then compete to show one’s answers in front of the whole class. Revise one’s answers in the end.

学情教材分析 Textbook Analysis: This period is both a connection of Section A and a lead-in part for Section B, because the topic here is not only about music and movies, but also about books and bands, etc. In another word, it is going to talk about people’s favors of all kinds of things. So, in order to achieve the learning goal, there’s going to be enough listening and speaking practice for the students, too. Student Analysis: With the help of the knowledge learned from Section A, the students will not feel difficult to take part in the listening and speaking practice activities, since they have mastered the ways to make preferences through relative clauses.

Student Analysis: For students these days, they may know little about the great musician Abing as well as so many great Chinese music pieces, because they’re raised up with modern pop music. More sadly, they’re influenced a lot by Western music. So there is an urgency for the students to learn about Chinese traditional folk music.
