They will learn about the subjects each student studies and their favourite subjects. 2.Language Points: Highlight new vocabulary such as “schedule” “favourite subject” “make sb. happy” “work out” “useful” etc. Explain the structure and function of “I want to be... ” to express future aspirations. Point out the use of “because” to give reasons for preferences. 3.Reading Activity: Ask students to read the message board about Mike and Wu Binbin's favourite subjects in 1b. Ask students to underline all the school subjects mentioned by each student. Encourage students to use the language points they have learned to fill out the table. 3.Check the answers. The answers are: Mike Davis: music—The class is fun and he can learn a lot of new songs.
