教学内容
教学重点：从语调、押韵、韵律、结构和修辞手法等方面欣赏有关宠物的诗歌。 教学难点：深度思考实际生活中如何选择宠物及养宠物前需要考虑的问题。
教学过程
Step 1 Learn and understand Have students answer the two questions on page 58 before reading the two poems. Have students look at the two pictures on page 58 and describe them. Have students read the rubrics and answer the following question. What type of text are they Have students read the poem “My dog” together and answer the following questions. What is the dog like Why does the writer think the dog is clever Have students read the poem “My cat” together and fill in the table below. Have students finish Part B on page 59. Have students read the tip on page 58 and answer the following question. How do you feel after reading the two poems Have students listen to the recording and read along, and then do the following exercises. Finish Part A on page 59. Circle some words or phrases that show the writers’ love for the pets. Have students answer the following questions. Why do the writers use “he” or “she”, but not “it” Why does the writer use “the cleverest animal of all” but not “a clever animal” Which line contains an exaggeration in “My cat” Then have students explain what other writing skills the writers use to make the poems more interesting and give some examples. Step 2 Apply and practise Have students finish the chart about “My dog”. Then have students introduce the poem “My dog” according to the chart. Have students finish the chart about “My cat”. Then have students introduce the poem “My cat” according to the chart. Have students finish Part C on page 60. Step 3 Transfer and innovate Have students change one of the blog posts in Part C on page 60 into a poem by filling in the blanks. Charlie is my little (1) , He is (2) . Then have students report the results of their discussion to the whole class.
