Neil’s home is about 15 miles from London. It is at 28 Rose Street. It has an area of 160 square metres. His phone number is 0207 000 1111.
Neil loves taking pictures. He has about 1,000 pictures on his phone. They are very beautiful!
Read the text below and pay attention to the use of cardinal numbers (基数词).
基数词
0 = zero 11 = eleven
1 = one 12 = twelve
2 = two 13 = thirteen
3 = three 14 = fourteen
4 = four 15 = fifteen
5 = five 16 = sixteen
6 = six 17 = seventeen
7 = seven 18 = eighteen
8 = eight 19 = nineteen
9 = nine
10 = ten
注意： 13—19均以teen结尾。但thirteen, fifteen, eighteen略有不同。
构成
20 = twenty
30 = thirty
40 = forty
50 = fifty
60 = sixty
70 = seventy
80 = eighty
90 = ninety
100 = hundred
注意：20以上100以内的整十数，均以ty结尾；20以上的非整十数，书写时要在十位和个位之间加连字符。但twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, eighty略有不同。

注意：在用阿拉伯数字记录较大数目时，通常用逗号或空格将大数目分隔，从个位开始，三个一组。第一个逗号前的数字后加thousand，第二个逗号前的数字后加million，第三个逗号前的数字后加billion。当hundred, thousand, million, billion等前有具体数词修饰时，必须用单数形式；但当它们表示不确切的数字时，应用复数形式，且其后要加of。
表示百位数的基数词时，先说“几百”，再加and，再加末尾两位数或个位数。
千位数及以上 （千 = thousand）

读大数字的“口诀”：从右向左三逗开，一逗千，二逗百万，三逗就是十万万；三位分开用百读，包准又快又清楚。

构成
19th = nineteenth

1. 一般的序数词的构成是在基数词词尾加上th，而 first
second、third较特殊。
2. 以ve结尾的基数词，ve要变为f，再加th。如：
five → fifth twelve → twelfth
3. 以ty结尾的基数词，y要变为ie，再加th。如：
twenty →twentieth thirty → thirtieth
4. 十位或百位的基数词，将其个位上的基数词变为序数词。如：
fifty-five → fifty-fifth
two hundred and sixty-one → two hundred and sixty-first
5. 序数词也可以用缩写形式。如：fourth → 4th
twenty-third → 23rd
基变序，有规律，词尾加上 th；
一、二、三，特殊记，
词尾字母t，d，d (first, second, third)；
八去t，九去e (eighth, ninth)；
ve要用f替(fifth, twelfth)；
ty将y改成i，th前面有个e；
若是碰到几十几，前用基来后用序；
序有缩式莫忘记，比较就能心牢记。
基数词变序数词口诀
We use ordinal numbers to talk about the order of things and events. We use them to talk about grades, dates, __________, positions, etc.

我们通常用序数词来谈论日期、楼层、名次、年级等。在表达日期时，用“月份 + 日期 + 年份”或“日期 + 月份 + 年份”，其中日期用序数词表示，年份用基数词表示，并需用逗号把年份与其前面的部分隔开。

China’s National Day is on the first of October.

注意:（英式）the eleventh floor =（美式）the twelfth floor
