What 在感叹句中修饰名词。因为名词有可数和不可数的区别,所以由what 引导的感叹句有两种结构:
What + a/an + 形容词 + 可数名词单数 + 主语 + 谓语
What an interesting story it is! (这是个)多么有趣的故事啊!
What + 形容词 + 可数名词复数(或不可数名词) + 主语 + 谓语
What beautiful flowers they are! (它们是)多么漂亮的花啊!
Then, Billy reaches the living room. Use What-type exclamatory sentence to describe what Billy sees.

口语中常省略主谓。

感叹句what与how的转换, 感叹句与陈述句的转换。
What a nice day (it is)! = How nice the day is!
转换为陈述句:It is a nice day.
转换为陈述句:The day is nice.
易错点与技巧

引导词的选择
被强调的中心词是名词时用 what。
被强调中心词若为可数名词单数,用 “What + (a/an) + 形容词 + 可数名词单数 + 其他成分!” 结构。
若为可数名词复数或不可数名词,用 “What + 形容词 + 可数名词复数 / 不可数名词 + 其他成分!” 结构。
被强调的中心词是形容词或副词时用 how。
用 “How + 形容词 / 副词 + 其他成分!” 结构。
