Let’s read a story about Su Bingtian and check our answers.
1 "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I'm possible’.”
Audrey Hepburn, the British actress and star of the silver
screen, said this. However, doubts and fears often hold us
back. How can we face them and succeed
2 The runner Su Bingtian gives an excellent answer to this
question. The young man began his sporting life in 2006. At
that time, no one from Asia had ever run the 100m race in less
than 10 seconds. Su trained hard and quickly became one of
the fastest runners in Asia. In 2011, he ran the race in10.16
seconds.
3 However, Su wasn't satisfied. To run in under 10 seconds,
in 2014, he changed his starting leg. This was a very risky
decision. He had to start from zero. At first, he was slower than
before. Also, he was 25 years old. At such an age, many runners
choose to stop running. People doubted his decision. However, Su
fought his fears and became a sporting hero.
4 In 2015, he clocked 9.99 seconds and made history. In 2021, he
finished in 9.83 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics. He also became
the first Chinese athlete to run in the Olympic 100m final.
5 Su Bingtian has told youngsters, “Never let your age hold you
back. Have a try and try harder. I believe you can write your own
story.” Nothing is impossible as long as you try and stick to it.
Everyone can be a Su-perman!

Answer the questions.
1. What do you think the title means
The title is a clever word trick. It shows that the word “impossible” can be split into “I’m possible.” It means that nothing is truly impossible if you try hard—just like Su Bingtian proved by breaking records despite doubts.
2. What do Su Bingtian's words in Paragraph 5 mean
“Never let your age hold you back. Have a try and try harder. I believe you can write your own story.”
Don't make excuses like age or fear. Just start trying, keep working hard, and never give up. He proved this himself by breaking records even when people doubted him. His words mean everyone can achieve great things if they believe and persist – just like he did!
3. What does the writer mean by “Everyone can be a Su-perman!"
The writer cleverly combines "Su" (Su Bingtian's last name) with "Superman" to create "Su-perman". It means anyone can be a hero like Su Bingtian if they follow his example.
Here’s a video to help us know about Su Bingtian better.
