I. Teaching Objectives

Students can master the usage of prepositions of time (in, on, at) for different time expressions (parts of day, months, seasons, years, days, dates, specific parts of day, special holidays, time of day, age).
Students can understand and use adverbs of frequency (never, seldom, sometimes, often, usually, always) to describe how often things happen.

Students can correctly use prepositions of time to complete conversations about school life.
Students can use adverbs of frequency to describe exercise habits and school activities.
Students can talk about their school life with partners using prepositions of time and adverbs of frequency.

IV. Teaching Procedures
(I) Lead - in (5 minutes)
The teacher shows a timeline with different time markers (morning, September, autumn, 2022, Saturday, 1 July, 7 o'clock, 6 years old) and asks students: "How do we talk about these times in English " This activity leads to the topic of prepositions of time.
(II) Presentation (15 minutes)
Prepositions of Time (Part A)
The teacher guides students to read the explanation about prepositions of time and the example table. Then, the teacher explains the usage of "in", "on", and "at" for different time expressions one by one, using examples to illustrate.
Adverbs of Frequency (Part B)
The teacher shows the graph of adverbs of frequency and explains that adverbs of frequency tell how often things happen. The teacher explains the meaning and usage of each adverb (never, seldom, sometimes, often, usually, always) with examples.
(III) Practice (20 minutes)
Activity A1
Students complete Sandy and her grandma's conversation with the correct prepositions of time.
Students work individually first, then check answers in pairs. The correct answers are:

Activity B1

Students talk with their partners about their school life, using prepositions of time (Activity A2), and write six sentences about their school activities, using each adverb of frequency once (Activity B2).

(IV) Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summary: The teacher summarizes the usage of prepositions of time and adverbs of frequency with students, emphasizing the key points.
Homework:
Students write five sentences using prepositions of time to describe their daily routines.
Students write five sentences using adverbs of frequency to describe their school activities.
V. Teaching Reflection
In this grammar lesson, students have a basic understanding of prepositions of time and adverbs of frequency. Most students can complete the exercises correctly. However, some students still have difficulties in distinguishing the correct prepositions of time and using adverbs of frequency accurately. More practice is needed in future lessons to consolidate their knowledge.
