Cheng Qiang.
2. What did he experience during the earthquake
His hometown was badly destroyed by the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. The roads were broken, the traffic was cut off, his family’s house collapsed and some of his relatives died.
3. Who helped him and other survivors
The paratroopers.
4. How did the paratroopers help the survivors
They airdropped rescue supplies and helped save more survivors. Their efforts brought hope to the survivors.

The disaster

It was the Wenchuan Earthquake.

It happened in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province in 2008.

Cheng Qiang and the people in his hometown went through the disaster.

The paratroopers' selfless rescue and help during the disaster encouraged Cheng Qiang. He set a goal to become a paratrooper and worked hard for it.

One touching moment was when the young Cheng Qiang held a banner that said “I want to be a paratrooper when I grow up” to show his thanks and dreams.

Now, Cheng Qiang is an outstanding paratrooper.
7. What can you learn from the story
We can learn the power of hope. No matter how difficult the disaster is, as long as we have firm beliefs and work hard, we can overcome difficulties.
Step 2
Write a story.
In 2008, a big earthquake hit Wenchuan. Cheng Qiang, a little boy, and the people in his hometown went through this terrible disaster. The earthquake destroyed houses and roads, bringing great pain.
During the disaster, paratroopers came to help. Their selfless rescue encouraged Cheng Qiang a lot. So he set a dream: To be a paratrooper when he grow up. He studied hard and trained well. Step by step, he got closer to his dream.
Now, Cheng Qiang is a real paratrooper. He devotes himself to serving the country and people, just like those paratroopers who helped him before.
From this story, we learn that dreams and hard work can help us get over difficulties. Also, we should be grateful to the helpers and pass on the spirit of love.
