This number is known as Kaprekar's constant.It is named after the Indian mathematician Dattatreya Ramchandra Kaprekar.He discovered the magic behind this number in 1949 after performing the above process.
Kaprekar had always enjoyed playing with numbers.After finishing college，he spent his life working as a primary school math teacher.The man was known for his sharp mind.Many schools and colleges invited him to solve difficult math problems.But when Kaprekar presented the magic of 6174 at an international mathematics meeting，other mathematicians didn'troll out the red carpet.They thought it was a useless discovery and made fun of him.Yet to this day，no scientist can fully tell why this magic works.
