Unit 7 Grammar 教学设计
I. Teaching Objectives
Master the use of the simple past tense to talk about past events, including regular and irregular verb forms.
Improve the ability to use the simple past tense correctly in writing about a camping trip and outdoor activities.
Enhance communication skills by talking about past outdoor experiences using the simple past tense.
II. Language Knowledge
1. Key structures
Simple past tense:
Use: Talk about things in the past.
Formation:
Regular verbs: -ed (e.g., walk → walked; love → loved; try → tried; stop → stopped).
Irregular verbs: Different forms (no -ed, e.g., go → went, have → had, be → was/were).
2. Key sentences
Read the short text below and pay attention to the use of verbs.
Last term, I tried roller skating for the first time. At first, I could not even stand up on my skates. My skating teacher is really nice. He helped me practise, and little by little, I found it very enjoyable. Now I'm not so afraid of skating. I'm going to have my skating lesson at the weekend. I can't wait.

III. Teaching Procedures
Learning activities:
Step 1 Introduce Simple Past Tense
Explain simple past tense
T: Read the short text about roller skating. Notice verbs like tried, helped, found (past tense). We use simple past to talk about past events. Show time expressions (last term, last week). Explain regular verbs add -ed, irregular verbs have special forms.
Step 2 Practice Regular/Irregular Verbs (Activity A)
Complete sentences with simple past
T: Amy is writing about a camping plete sentences with simple past (regular: planned, shopped, prepared, stopped; irregular: bought, left, met, took, was, had). Then check answers and explain verb forms.
Step 3 Conversation Practice (Activity B)
Complete conversation with simple past

IV. Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness
Assess Ss' verb form usage via Activities A, B, C.
Evaluate Ss' writing in Activity D, checking simple past tense accuracy.
This lesson helps Ss master simple past tense for past outdoor events.
V. Design Purpose
