【教学过程】
Step 1 导入
1. 展示伦敦的图片,包括大本钟、伦敦眼等标志性建筑,引导学生将图片和名称匹配,然后向学生提问:“What do you know about London ”以此激发学生对伦敦的兴趣,激活他们已有的背景知识。
2. 给出更详细的背景知识:Learn about the places of interest in London.
Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. It is one of the most famous Gothic architectures in the world. It was completed in 1859. The clock tower is 96 metres high, and the bell weighs 13.5 tons. It rings every 15 minutes and chimes on the hour. The clock itself is accurate to within one second.
Tower Bridge is one of the most famous iconic buildings in London. It spans the River Thames, connecting the City of London and Southwark. There are 35 bridges cross the River Thames in London. Built in 1894, it is a Victorian-style suspension bridge with two towers that are one of the symbols of the bridge. The nightly light show attracts countless tourists.
Buckingham Palace is the official and main royal London home. It has been the official London residence of Britain’s monarchy since 1837. Located in the city of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live there. Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms, including 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices,
and 78 bathrooms.
St. Paul’s Cathedral is an iconic feature of the London skyline and is well recognized across the world. For more than 1,400 years, a cathedral dedicated to St. Paul has stood at the highest point in the city. The current cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, was completed on Christmas Day in 1711. Its dome dominated the skyline for 300 years and is one of the largest domes in the world.
Step 2 速记游戏——the best guide
教师带领学生迅速熟悉英国伦敦的著名景点知识,开展一场挑战——在 2 分钟内速记以上内容。学生扮演导游角色,根据自己记住的内容介绍伦敦,竞逐最佳导游的称号。

Step 4 听中活动
1. 听音频第一遍,完成第 72 页活动 2。通过在听前仔细审题,听中精准捕捉关键信息的方式,完成本活动。
l 引导学生首先仔细阅读题目,确保他们在听力过程中能够有针对性地捕捉关键信息。
l 指导学生识别听力文本中的关键词以锁定答案,并对出现的生词进行讲解。
l (5)和(6)题可提醒学生留意那些以“You should ... ”开头的建议性语句。
2. 听音频第二遍,学生检查空白处自己的回答是否准确无误,并记录一些听力文本中提到的其他旅行建议。
3. 听音频第三遍,完成第 72 页活动 3 。引导学生注意细节信息,留意问题中的关键词组:
(1)be curious 和(2)after they comeback,以帮助学生更准确地定位答案。

(3) What challenges might Nu Lei face during her first visit to another country, and how can she overcome(克服)them
(4) In what ways do you think the classes at Woodpark School might be different from those at the students’ school in China
Step 7 听后活动
1. 假如一位学生因故没能听到刘老师的注意事项,请另一位同学帮忙复述。要求学生以小组活动的形式,根据活动 2 的笔记,复述这次交流活动的注意事项。若学生程度较好,可以在笔记上增补细节。如 ask permission before taking photos。
2. 思维导图:结合教材第 72 页Your ideas,引导学生从准备、住宿、游览、学习、社交五个方面进行思考,完成思维导图。
Step 8 头脑风暴
1. 引导学生再次回顾主阅读语篇和听力部分所学的内容,列出交流旅行项目中参加的活动。
2. 通过教材第 75 页的 4 个问题,引导学生思考参加这些活动有什么好处?

Step 10 Improving your pronunciation
1. 朗读并思考:让学生读下列句子,思考什么句型要用降调?
I plan an exchange trip. Would you like to go on an exchange trip When will you start the exchange trip She doesn't like exchange trips. Prepare for the exchange trip!
2. 巩固练习:先由教师朗读教材第 75 页 Improving your pronunciation 中的句子,总结特殊疑问句、陈述句以及祈使句用降调的语调规则。教师强调降调的位置,学生先逐句模仿,注意语调的变化。随后,学生两人一组,互相纠正语调。
3. 可提供补充练习,均用降调。
