一、阅读理解
(2025·浙江·中考真题)①Life is full of moments, but some are “special” and stay in our hearts forever. For example, the first time you rode a bike alone, a friend’s hug when you were sad, or in the evening talking with family. These moments aren’t always big, but they change how we feel about ourselves and the world.
②Special moments are like treasures. We don’t need to write them down—our hearts remember them. A teacher might praise a shy student’s drawing, making the child feel important. A parent could bake cookies with you on a rainy day, filling the kitchen with laughter. Even strangers can create them: a barista who knows your coffee order, or a neighbor who helps carry groceries. These small acts stay in our minds because they make us feel loved.
③Businesses also use special moments. A café might play soft music and serve warm cookies on cold days to make customers feel welcome. A bookstore could hold story time for kids every weekend, turning a visit into a happy memory. An ice-cream shop lets customers decorate their own cones (冰激凌蛋筒)—seeing a child smile while adding something is a moment everyone remembers.

(2025·浙江绍兴·三模)I used to have a motorcycle (摩托车). One Sunday in summer, my 10-year-old daughter and I went for a ride in the countryside. We took the back roads to a park where the view was fantastic! The wind was strong enough to give more pleasure to riding the motorcycle.
Halfway through the park, the motorcycle was out of gas and stopped working, leaving a woman and her daughter, 20 miles from home, hopeless.
Along came a motorcyclist. He slowed, got off his motorcycle and asked what the problem was. He had long hair and didn’t look kind. Some people would have looked at him and said, “Oh, one of those unpleasant people.” But I’ve known many people like him, both good and bad, so I hoped that he was among the good ones.
When I told him about our trouble, he offered to help. I rode his motorcycle with my daughter and he pushed my motorcycle. Through hard work, we finally reached a small town next to the park.
On those days, most gas stations were closed on Sunday. They included the station in the town. My new friend jumped on his motorcycle to search for an open gas station. Nearby, Ali, hungry and with only a dry piece of bread in his hand, passed the tea house and was drawn in by the smell of soup. He stood near the kettle, breathing in the rich smell of food. His stomach started to make noise as he named the ingredient he could smell. He then placed his dry bread above the kettle, letting the warm steam (蒸汽) soak (浸入) into it, making the bread taste much better.

(2025·浙江宁波·三模)I’ve had a long argument with a girl named Summer ever since we met in kindergarten (幼儿园). It all started with a small cubby (小柜子). Six-year-old Summer asked me to take my backpack out of “her” cubby.
“You don’t own this cubby,” six-year-old me replied. “Why don’t you just use a different cubby ”
“I’ve been using this cubby all week,” said Summer. “You’re the one who needs to use a different cubby!”
“Well,” I said. “I don’t think you’re being very friendly.”
“Well,” said Summer. “Maybe that’s because you’re not my friend!”
In the first grade, during a ball game, we argued again. Summer said I was out of the game because the ball bounced twice, but I knew it only bounced once by the rule. She said I was a sore loser, and I said the same about her.
In the third grade, we had another disagreement when we were in the chess club. I questioned her move (走棋), and she got angry, saying the wrong move was that she agreed to play with me.

During rehearsals, we practised over and over again in order to give a wonderful performance on the stage and we started talking with each other before the big show. We knew our memories of past arguments were completely different. We ended up laughing about those silly fights. (2025·浙江温州·三模)On May 6, 2025, a 28-year-old Chinese snooker player named Zhao Xintong made sports history. He beat Welsh Star Mark Williams 18-12 in the World Snooker Championship final. This was China’s first world champion in snooker ever! Before this, British players had won for 98 years, but now that long record was broken.
Zhao’s path to success was full of stories. In 2023, he had to stop playing for 20 months because people said he did something wrong in a match. But in September 2024, he came back. He started from the early qualifying games (资格赛) and played nine matches. He won 111 frames (parts of a snooker game)! In one game, he even beat seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan 17-7. (2025·浙江温州·三模)This summer, my parents took my brother and me on the coolest vacation ever! We visited three amazing places. Let me tell you all about our trips.
First, we flew to Egypt. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the pyramids. They’re much bigger in real life than in pictures! Our guide Ahmed told us stories about how they were built thousands of years ago. The best part was when we were on a small sailboat at sunset and ate delicious Egyptian food with a local family. They taught us how to make pita bread, which was really fun and tasty!

After five years away from the Kruger, my wife and I returned last winter to celebrate our 10th anniversary, spending two fantastic weeks in the Park. The true magic of the Kruger lies in its uncertainty. One of the most exciting parts of our trips was to look for the wild animals, especially big cats like lions and leopards (豹). Although we got enough knowledge and preparation, luck is still the most important factor (因素) in these encounters (偶遇).
We spent eight hours driving around the roads of Skukuza on our first morning, without finding any wild animals. As the night drew near, we found ourselves on a quiet road. Suddenly, I found a leopard walking along the roadside. Encounters like these were not common, especially we had the chance of sharing this moment with the leopard alone. I quickly stopped the car and took out my camera as it walked directly towards us. In that short moment, a flood of feelings rushed through my mind: fear, amazement, respect and excitement—all at once. Nature reminds us that we humans are not at the top of the food chain.
Moments later, we received a message that there were lions around here and soon we found five lions crossing the road in front of us. Once again, we were lucky to be alone, we took more photos of these beautiful animals in the perfect evening light before other cars arrived.
On our final morning, we drove from Lower Sabie to Skukuza. About 9km before Nkuhlu Picnic Site, we discovered two lions walking slowly and confidently along the road. They looked straight at us before disappearing into the woods. To me, it felt as if these lions were saying goodbye to us.

(2025·浙江绍兴·三模)I was not surprised to hear that someone made fun of my look at my friend’s birthday party. I laughed along, silently agreeing that I was not so good-looking. It was so embarrassing.
Over the next months, I became increasingly self-critical (自我批判), at first only of my looks and then of almost everything else. As I kept focusing on my looks, I became unable to put myself into my schoolwork.
When a family friend got plastic surgery (整形手术), I told my parents that I wanted to do it too. A nose job seemed like the answer to everything. To my surprise, my parents agreed and even thought of the surgery as a way to treat my snoring (打鼾).
Finally, the day arrived. I went to the hospital with my mother. In her mind, the surgery was small—she saw it as something quick and easy. But to me, it was more like a life-changing event.
Though I felt fine for the first few hours after I returned home, finally a burning pain was in my head. When I finally got the bandage removed, I cried the whole way home. I felt worse. Over the weeks, I began to feel foolish. I couldn’t believe that I’d gone through all this just because some classmates had laughed at me.
It wasn’t until I actually had the surgery that I realized that having a prettier nose wouldn’t make me feel any better about myself. Now I realize that my self-worth is in many more valuable things: my sense of humor and the power of my mind.
