Step 1： Lead-in Show a picture related to birthday parties and ask: “What do you usually do on your birthday ” “What things do you need for a birthday party ” Guide students to list items needed for a birthday party to naturally introduce the topic of “shopping for a birthday party”. Step 3： Listening 1.Pre-listening Look at the picture and answer the questions. (2)Read the conversation and complete the table in 2b. 3.Post-listening Listen to the conversation again and pay attention to the intonation. Step 4： Practice Introduce the task in 2d: Show the list of items on the screen. Explain that students need to categorize these items into three groups: “Drinks”, “Food”, and “Other things”. Give examples to clarify the categories. Encourage students to add more items related to birthday parties to each category. Read the list of items in 2d carefully and independently categorize them into “Drinks”, “Food”, and “Other things” on the book. Step 5： Group work Divide students into groups of 3-4. Explain the task: Suppose tomorrow is your best friend’s birthday. You have 100 yuan. Discuss and decide what to buy for the party. Fill in the table. One student acts as the shop assistant and the others act as customers to perform a dialogue. 1.Discuss in groups. Brainstorm items needed for the party and fill in the form together. Collaborate to create a dialogue, assigning roles (shop assistant,customers). 2.Perform the dialogue if selected, and listen to other groups’ performances with attention. 通过真实的情境任务，将课堂所学的词汇和句型运用到实践中，提升学生的语言交际能力。在讨论预算和选择物品的过程中，培养学生的团队协作能力、逻辑思维和问题解决能力。对话表演环节则为学生提供展示成果的机会，让他们在互动中巩固知识。
Step 6: Extension 1.Play the video of Emperor Xuanzong (focusing on: long noodles as food, peaches as gifts, family banquets as activities) and then the video of Queen Elizabeth I (focusing on: birthday cake as food, small trinkets as gifts, candle-blowing and feasts as activities). 2.Guide students to list the differences between Chinese and Western birthday traditions. 3.Display the sentence: “Birthdays are not just about gifts, but also about THANKING those who love you.” Watch the videos carefully, taking notes on food, gifts, and activities mentioned by each historical figure and then share ideas. Read the sentence aloud, reflect on the teacher’s explanation. 通过观看历史人物介绍视频，为学生提供直观、生动的文化输入,让语言学习与文化探究有机结合。 然后，通过情感引导句，将文化学习升华为情感教育，帮助学生领悟生日的核心意义。
Step 7： Summary 1.Listen to a song which summarizes the key sentences in this class. 2.Encourage students to sing with the music. Watch the video and listen to the melody. Then follow the teacher to sing with the music. 将重点词汇和句型融入歌曲视频，通过韵律和视觉刺激，让学生在轻松愉悦的氛围中回顾知识，突破传统总结的枯燥性,强化记忆效果,让复习过程更高效。
Step 8： Homework 1.基础作业: 用 “How much is/are... ” 句型，为 2d 中至少 5 种物品编写价格询问句，并回答。 2.提升作业： 根据自己的购物清单，模仿 2e 对话格式编写一段购物对话。 3.创新作业： 调查家人/朋友的生日礼物偏好，用英语记录并分享。
