Teaching Procedures
Step1 Warming - up
1. Show some pictures of different animals on the screen and ask students to name them in English.
2. Play a short video about a zoo to arouse students' interest and lead in the topic.
通过展示动物图片引导学生用英语命名，激活学生已有的动物相关词汇储备，强化语言知识的即时调用能力；播放动物园主题短片，以直观生动的视觉刺激激发学生对课堂主题的兴趣，自然衔接 “动物园设计” 的核心话题，为后续教学活动奠定情感和认知基础。
Step2 Group Discussion
1. Divide students into group of four.
2. Give each group the task of taking turns to think of an animal and describe it. The others in the group try to guess the animal and write it down in the table.
3. Walk around the classroom and offer help and guidance when necessary.
以 4 人小组为单位开展 “描述动物 - 猜测动物” 活动，一方面通过 “轮流描述” 锻炼学生运用英语准确表达动物特征的语言能力，通过 “猜测记录” 强化听力理解和信息提取能力；另一方面借助小组互动形式，培养学生的团队协作意识，营造互助学习的氛围，同时为后续 “动物园动物选择” 积累素材和思路。
Step3 Zoo design
1. Each group selects some of the animals from the previous discussion for their zoo.
2. Ask students to give reasons for their choices and discuss how to arrange the animals in the zoo.
引导学生从前期讨论的动物中筛选并确定动物园的核心动物，要求说明选择理由并讨论布局，旨在培养学生的逻辑思维能力 —— 需结合动物习性、生态关联等因素合理化选择；同时通过 “自主决策布局” 环节，鼓励学生主动思考、大胆设想，突破思维定式，初步落实 “创造性设计动物园” 的教学难点。
Step4 Map Drawing
1. Students draw a map of their zoo on a piece of paper.
2. Encourage them to be creative and add some details.
让学生将抽象的动物园设计构想转化为具象的地图绘制，通过动手实践锻炼空间规划能力和细节表达能力；强调 “创造性添加细节”，进一步激发学生的想象力，使设计方案更具个性化和完整性，同时通过可视化成果增强学生的学习成就感。
Step5 Presentation
1. Each group take turns to present their designed zoo to the class.
2. They should use the expressions provided and try to explain their design clearly.
3. Other groups can ask questions or give comments.
通过小组轮流展示设计成果，为学生提供语言输出的平台，锻炼其运用指定表达清晰阐述设计理念的口语表达能力；设置 “提问与评论” 环节，既促进学生之间的互动交流，培养批判性思维和评价能力，又通过互评巩固课堂所学的动物描述、布局设计等核心知识点，强化学习效果。
Step6 Summary and Homework
1. Summarize the key points of this lesson and praise students' performance.
2. Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage.
课堂总结梳理本课重点知识，帮助学生系统化回顾学习内容，强化对 “动物描述”“团队合作”“创造性设计” 等核心目标的认知；对学生表现的表扬能提升其学习自信心和积极性。布置写作作业则是课堂学习的延伸，通过撰写短文锻炼学生的书面表达能力，巩固动物特征描述、动物园设计相关的语言知识和逻辑组织能力，实现 “听说读写” 技能的联动强化。
