Read Vincent’s diary entries about his holiday.

He visited the Victory Museum, the Moscow Metro stations, Red Square and a school.
He felt excited and happy about his trip, even though he got a little sick on the first day.
1. As we walked through the halls, the tour guide told us stories about the war. 当我们走过大厅时，导游给我们讲述了关于战争的故事。
guide n. 导游；指南；手册 v. 给某人领路；指导
(1)【名词】导游；指南；手册
The guide gave each of us a guide. 导游给了我们每个人一本旅游指南。
(2)【动词】给某人领路；指导；指引
guide sb. to do sth. 指导某人做某事
I often guide my sister to learn English.
我经常指导我妹妹学习英语。
2. In one hall, I saw an artwork with thousands of glass “tears” falling down.
在一个展厅里，我看到一件艺术品：成千上万的玻璃“眼泪”正从上方坠落。
with + 宾语（thousands of glass ‘tears’）+ 宾补（falling down）
这里的 falling down 是现在分词短语，作宾语补足语，强调动作“正在进行”。
【拓展】
结构：with + 名词 / 代词 + 非谓语动词 / 形容词 / 介词短语等
功能：在句中作定语或状语，表示伴随、原因、方式等。
例句：She left the room with the door open.
（伴随状态，“门开着”。）
With him helping us, we finished the work quickly.
（原因，“有他帮忙”。）
3. It reminds us that war is terrible and peace does not come easily.
这提醒我们，战争是可怕的，和平来之不易。
remind sb. that… 提醒某人某事
(1) remind sb. of sth. 使某人想起某事（= make sb. remember sth.）
(2) remind sb. to do sth. 提醒某人去做某事（动作尚未发生）
例如：This song always reminds me of our first date.
这首歌总是让我想起我们的第一次约会。
Mom reminded me to call the doctor for an appointment.
妈妈提醒我给医生打电话预约。
4. We should not forget that.
我们不应忘记这一点。
forget v. 忘记；遗忘
forget to do sth. 忘记去做某事（某事未做）
forget doing sth. 忘记做过某事（某事已做）
I forget to turn off the light. 我忘记关灯了。（灯未关）
I forget turning off the light. 我忘记关过灯了。(表示我关灯了，但是忘记做过这件事。）
5. We were so happy that we didn’t notice the time.
我们太高兴了，以至于没有注意到时间。
so + 形容词 / 副词 + that + 结果状语从句，表示“如此…… 以至于……”，强调前因后果的逻辑关系。
例句：
She is so kind that everyone likes her.（形容词）
He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up.（副词）
It was so hot a day that we stayed indoors.（= such a hot day that…）
