教学过程
1 Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet the students and show some pictures of the school, including classrooms, playgrounds, libraries, etc. Then ask students: "What can you see in these pictures How do you feel about our new school " Let students discuss in pairs and share their answers. This activity can quickly arouse students' interest and lead them into the topic of the new start.
2 Pre - reading (10 minutes)
Present some words and phrases on the PPT, such as "new subject", "more activities", "make friends", etc. Ask students to read them aloud and explain the meanings briefly.
Then show some incomplete sentences related to the new school life, like "I am busy with ______." "I want to join a ______." Let students fill in the blanks with the words or phrases they just learned. This can help students review and preview relevant vocabulary, and also prepare them for the reading content.
3 While - reading (15 minutes)
Let students read a short passage about a student's new start in junior high school silently for the first time. After reading, ask them some general questions, such as "What grade is the student in " "What are the main problems he/she mentioned "
Then let students read the passage again carefully, and this time ask them some detailed questions, such as "How does the student plan to solve the problem of too many subjects " "What new activities does the school have " Students can underline the relevant sentences in the passage.
After that, divide students into groups of four. Each group discusses and summarizes the problems and solutions in the passage, and then selects a representative to report to the class. This can train students' reading comprehension ability, information - gathering ability and team - cooperation ability.
4 Post - reading (10 minutes)
Conduct a group discussion. Ask students to talk about their own problems in the new semester, such as having difficulty in a certain subject, not having enough time to do homework, etc. Each group member takes turns to state their problems, and others in the group try to give suggestions. For example, if a student says "I have difficulty in Maths", others may suggest "You can ask the teacher for help after class" or "Do more Maths exercises".
After the group discussion, invite some groups to share their discussions with the whole class. The teacher can give some comments and guidance, and also summarize some common problems and effective solutions.
5 Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summarize the key points of this class, including new vocabulary, grammar and the main content of the passage. Emphasize the importance of actively facing the new start and solving problems.
Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage about their new start in junior high school, including at least one problem they have encountered and their solutions. They should use the words and expressions learned in this class. This homework can consolidate students' learning achievements and improve their writing ability.
教学反思
Advantages:
The use of pictures in the lead - in part can effectively arouse students' interest and make them quickly immerse in the topic of the new start.
Group discussions in the post - reading part provide students with a lot of opportunities to express themselves, which can improve their speaking ability and cooperation ability.
The design of pre - reading, while - reading and post - reading steps is relatively reasonable, which can gradually guide students to understand and master the knowledge, and also train their reading and thinking abilities.
Disadvantages:
In the group discussion, some students may be too shy to express their true thoughts, and the teacher may not be able to pay attention to every student in time.
When summarizing the common problems and solutions, the time may be a little tight, and some students may not fully understand.
Improvement Measures:
For shy students, the teacher can encourage them more in daily teaching, and also arrange some easier tasks for them to gradually build confidence.
In the future teaching, when summarizing, the teacher can slow down the speed, and give more examples to help students better understand. Also, the teacher can ask students to repeat or summarize to check their understanding.
