一、教学内容
1．Talk about the differences and similarities between the twins Emma and Ella.
2．Summarize the comparison：comparatives.

重点：
1．Students will master descriptive vocabulary (e.g.for physical features，personalities，hobbies) and use it to accurately express similarities or differences between the twins.
2．Students will master the basic rules for forming comparatives.
3．Students will master the basic usage of comparatives in sentences.
难点：
1．Students may need to spend extra time memorizing and distinguishing irregular comparative forms.
2．Students may struggle to clearly identify comparison targets and scope，leading to ambiguous expressions.
四、教学过程
Step 1　Lead－in
The teacher shows students a picture of twins in their grade，and asks them to describe them.

Step 2　Listening & Speaking(2a～2b)
Work on 2a
1．Ask students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
T：Han Lin is interviewing Emma and Ella for the school newspaper.Are they similar or different Listen and fill in the blanks.
2．Have students share their answers，and correct any errors if necessary.
Work on 2b
1．Ask students to read the conversation and answer the questions.
T：Let's read the conversation to find answers：
What does Ella think of the festival
What do you think makes Emma and Ella a great team
(Volunteers read aloud while the teacher walks around to correct pronunciation.)
2．Have students discuss the answers in pairs.Then，invite volunteers to share with the class and help to correct their mistakes if necessary.

Step 3　Consolidation(2c～2d)
Work on 2c
Ask students to listen to the conversation and practise role－play in pairs.
Work on 2d
1．Show students two sets of different character cards，Li Bai and Du Fu，or Harry Potter and Hermione.Ask students to work in groups to brainstorm in what aspects they can compare two persons.
2．Ask students to compare the characters on the cards and then create a comparison table from aspects like appearance，personality，habit，and strength，and then give group presentations.

Step 4　Practice(2e)
Work on 2e
1．Ask students to compare themselves with their partners and write down the similarities and differences according to the aspects given in 2d.Then make a conversation based on the questions in 2e.
2．Choose two or three pairs to share their conversations.
【设计意图】通过练习对话，学生能够对文本的目标语言和语法进行强化练习。
Step 5　Summary
Ask students to work in groups to classify and organize the differences and similarities between Emma and Ella，and create mind maps.Then perfect the content，guiding students to systematically summarize and conclude.
【设计意图】通过思维导图的方式总结所学的知识点，学生能够明确本节课所学的重难点知识。
Step 6　Homework
1．Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
2．Optional：ask students to write a short essay to fully tell the differences and similarities between Emma and Ella，and they must use comparatives.
