bring people at home and abroad together
Last winter vacation, my family took a train to Harbin for a holiday. We stayed in a warm hotel near the frozen Songhua River. I live in a southern city, so everything here was so different! For example, outside our hotel, there was a huge ice square with shining lights.
On the first day, in the evening, I went to the ice square to explore. There, I was surprised to see colorful ice works of art. They looked like giant castles and animals! I ran back to tell my parents what I saw. My mom smiled and said, “These ice works are made by artists around the world. They want people to enjoy Harbin’s winter magic!”
What an unforgettable experience I had! From the experience, I learned that Harbin’s beauty can bring people at home and abroad together. I really hope I can go back again.

Last winter holiday, I visited Beijing with my classmates. It was in January, a bit cold but full of fun.
We stayed in a hotel near the Forbidden City(紫禁城). First, we went to the Great Wall. It was huge and old. We walked on the grey bricks(灰砖) and felt the history. Then, we visited the Forbidden City. The red walls and golden roofs(屋顶) were so grand(宏伟的) that they just took my breath away. In the evening, we tried Beijing Roast Duck. It was delicious!
