中国北斗卫星导航系统(BeiDou Navigation Satellite System,BDS)
是中国自行研制的全球卫星导航系统。它是继美国全球定位系统
(GPS)、俄罗斯格洛纳斯卫星导航系统(GLONASS)之后的第三个成熟的
卫星导航系统。
北斗卫星导航系统由空面段、地面段和用户段三部分组成，可在全球范围内全天候、全天时
为各类用户提供高精度、高可靠的定位、导航、授时服务，并具有短报文通信能力，已经初步具备
区域导航、定位和授时能力，定位精度优于10米，测速精度优于0.2米/秒，授时精度优于20
纳秒。
2020年3月9日19时55分，中国在西昌卫星发射中心用长征三号乙运载火箭成功发射北
斗系统第54颗导航卫星。2020年7月31日，习近平主席宣布北斗三号全球卫星导航系统正式
开通，向全球提供服务。
截至2020年年底，北斗一共发射了59颗卫星，目前除去退役、失效和用于试验的，有45颗
卫星正常在轨工作，数量要多于美国的全球定位系统、俄罗斯的格洛纳斯卫星导航系统以及欧盟
的伽利略卫星定位系统等其他国际上主要的全球卫星导航系统。
