情态动词(有拓展):
情态动词(Modal Verbs),本质上是助动词,用于表达说话者对动作或状态的态度、可能性、必要性、能力、许可、建议、请求等情态意义。
它们不能单独作谓语,必须与实义动词(原形)连用,构成谓语部分。
一)核心特点
1、不随主语变化
情态动词无人称和数的变化,无论主语是单数还是复数,形式均不变。
例:I can swim. / She can swim.(均为“can”)
2、后接动词原形
必须直接跟动词原形(如“run”“go”),不接“to”或“-ing/-ed”形式。
例:He should study harder.(“study”为原形)
3、否定形式简单
否定形式通常在情态动词后加“not”(可缩写为“n’t”)。
例:You must not smoke here.(“must not”缩写为“mustn’t”)
4、疑问句形式直接
将情态动词提前至句首即可构成疑问句。
例:Can I leave now

但must没有过去式,可用had to表示
2. 否定形式

3. 情态动词+have done
表示对过去情况的推测或评价:
- You should have told me earlier. (本应做而未做)
- She must have forgotten the meeting. (肯定已经发生)
