Today was our first day in Nanjing. It was sunny today, and we all felt excited to explore this city. In the morning, we went to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall. Inside, we saw many photos and relics. A guide told us stories about that sad time. It reminded us that war is really terrible and peace is so precious. We should never forget what happened.
At noon, we ate duck blood and vermicelli soup, a famous local food. It was hot and delicious!
In the afternoon, we went to Confucius Temple and visited Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. We saw old buildings and bought small gifts.
Though Nanjing has many nice places, visiting the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall was the most important part of the day. It made us cherish peace more and study harder. What a meaningful trip!

My best holiday experience was two years ago. My family lives in Wuhan, the biggest city in Central China. That summer, I decided to do something cool: cycling from Wuhan to Beijing with some friends from college. My parents were surprised at my idea, but soon they gave me all their support. With their help, I made a cycling plan. I also learnt a lot from other people’s cycling experiences. I packed everything I needed and started the trip. The cycling took us almost a month to complete.
