1. argue v. 争论;争吵
其名词形式为argument。argument以元音音素开头,前面使用不定冠词时an。
(1)argue with sb (about/over sth) (就某事)与某人争论 / 辩论。
(2)argue for sth为支持某事而辩论;赞成某事。argue against sth为反对
某事而辩论;反对某事。
(3)argue sb into doing sth说服某人做某事。argue sb out of doing sth说服
某人不做某事。

(1)〔形容词〕镇静的;沉着的
keep/stay calm保持镇静
例句:Try to keep calm and just tell me what happened. 试着保持冷静,告诉我发生了什么。
(2)〔动词〕使平静;使镇静
例句:She was breathing quickly and tried to calm herself. 她急促地呼吸着,试着让自己平静下来。
4. worry about为……担心
此短语后接名词、代词或动名词。worry的形容词为worried,其常用短语:be/feel/become/get worried about 为……担心。两个短语可互换使用。
例句:We shouldn’t worry about the future too much.
=We shouldn’t be/ feel/ become/ get worried about the future too much.我们不应该过多地担心未来。
5. chance n. 机会;可能性 adj. 意外的;偶然的
(1)It’s one’s chance to do sth. 是某人的机会做某事
例句:Now it is your chance to talk to teachers. 现在就是你和老师谈话的机会了。
(2) take a chance (to do) 冒险做
例句:Although there is little hope, I should take a chance. 尽管希望不大,我还是应当冒险一试。
