Background video.(背景视频) 教师播放关于Terry Fox的故事视频,学生根据影像资料进一步了解Terry Fox。 故事内容补充: 从前,有一个叫特里·福克斯的加拿大男孩。他热爱运动,梦想成为篮球明星。可是18岁那年,他被诊断出癌症,右腿不得不截肢。 特里没有放弃。他装上假肢,重新学会走路、跑步。一天,他突然想到:“如果我能跑遍全国,就能让更多人关注癌症研究!”于是,他发起了“希望马拉松”——计划每天跑42公里(相当于一个全程马拉松),横跨加拿大! 1980年4月,特里从加拿大东海岸出发。他顶着风雪,忍着假肢磨破皮肤的疼痛,甚至摔倒了也立刻爬起来。人们被他感动,纷纷捐款。但跑了143天、5373公里后,癌症复发,他不得不停止。 特里说:“即使我跌倒,也要让更多人站起来。”他虽然离开了,但“希望马拉松”延续至今,全球筹款超过8.5亿美元。 3.
